  1. These price increases are astronomical. £72 to sit in the east stand for the Wolves match. What the actual fuck? I wince at the thought of champions league ticket prices this season. If the league games are anything to go by, it wouldn't surprise me if it'll be around £80 for Leases/Gallowgate and north of £100 for tickets in East/Millburn. Disgusting
  2. Tbh I'd rather see him go at this point, so long as we get Wissa+ a striker + a CB before the window shuts. Considering how bare bones and impotent we are at a directorial level, I seriously doubt we can get that amount of business done before the window shuts. I have a feeling Wissa, Elanga + a striker is all we'll manage in the next 5 weeks
  3. Feel like it was a piss poor move on behalf of Isak to not get on that plane today. He's really let his teammates and Eddie Howe down imo. It's one thing to agitate for a move, but downing tools while you've got 3 years left on your contract is a classless move whatever the context. Just look at how Mbuemo conducted himself during that saga with Manchester United. I can only imagine how frustrating it was for him seeing how long negotiations were taking and he was maybe tempted to down tools to weaken Brentford's hand, but to the very last day he reported to training and pre season.
  4. Despite beating Liverpool in a cup final and qualifying for the Champions League for the 2nd time in 3 years we're still in a position whereby we're forced to sell our best players due to the growing financial disparities between the Septic 6 and the rest. It's a fucking joke Let's be honest, the league has become a predictable bore fest. No one can compete with the top 4 anymore. On top of that, it's been announced that a ticket in the east stand for the wolves game will cost £72....falling quickly out of love of modern football. Shit day all round
  5. Really is a frightening how much Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Arsenal are spending this summer compared to the rest of the league. The more money there is in the game, the less enjoyable it is as a fan. £100 tickets, shite atmosphere and a league table you can accurately predict before a ball is even kicked due to growing financial disparities. The fact the last 2 seasons has seen all newly promoted teams relegated should be a massive red flag to where our game is headed.
  6. Pulled out of the Internationals due to an ongoing thigh/groin issue if I remember correctly
  7. Wissa would be a massive upgrade on the iteration of Wilson we had last season. The amount of times Isak was gassed at the 60-70th minute mark but had to carry on because we had no serviceable replacement on the bench were countless. Genuinely excited if this goes through!
  8. I do not imagine a scenario in which Isak leaves this window. Most likely scenario is new contract with 230k pw with a release clause and gentleman's agreement allowing him to leave next summer for a big fee. Win-win for all parties involved. I'm sure he'll survive another season with us playing Champions League football and competing for domestic trophies Just look at how brutal the striker market is now. We can't afford to lose our only recognised striker (even if he put's in a transfer request) going into a CL season whereby we could easily be playing more than 50 matches
  9. Bloody frustrating that we're a champions league outfit yet we appear unable to get players through the door
  10. Nothing would make me happier than to see Big Dan Burn pocket Ekitike and Isak to score his customary goal against Liverpool in the first home game. That would shit on this baby Isak coping narrative. Pretty insulting to compare a player that doesn't even have a cap for his national side with one of the top 4 strikers in the world
  11. After this Ekitike news, the only feasible exit now would be if a Saudi Pro League club came in with a £250m offer. A more realistic scenario is Isak signs a new 200k+ contract with the intention of allowing him to leave next summer if he wants out. I'm sure he'll survive one more season of Champions League football with us
  12. I'm fairly certain that Liverpool would not have acted so quickly on Ekitike if they were very confident that the door was still ajar on Isak. Even if we were to entertain the fanciful idea that Liverpool now break the bank and buy Isak as well, it would surely be dependent on Nunez leaving the club first? Selling Nunez is proving to be complicated for Liverpool and may very well drag on late on into the window, in which case it'll be too late to make a credible approach for Isak. If Liverpool are going to buy Isak, they better seal the deal quickly, because there's no way Newcastle go into a champions league season with Osula as their only recognised striker.
  13. It just seems absurd to ignore the overwhelming body of evidence suggesting Isak is not going Liverpool this window. The constant pivot to doom-mongering is ridiculous. Liverpool have just spent €100m on Ekitike with a clear intention of playing him as a CF. It is ludicrous to suggest that Liverpool are now going to spend in excess of £150m on Isak to play him on the wing. If they do enter the winger market, depending on exits, they might go for Rodrygo
  14. Give it a rest mate. By buying Ekitike, Liverpool have essentially given up on Isak this summer
  15. I personally think people are overreacting to the cautious nature of Howe's comments. Let's remember that Howe has always been particularly cautious, almost to a fault. I remember journos laughing at Howe last year when he said the Lloyd Kelly ( I think it was him) deal was not 100% certain, even though they'd already spotted him in the same building as the pressor
  16. We are going to be playing 50+ games this season. No way we sell our only striker at this stage in the window. Even if Isak throws his toys out the pram we can't afford to lose him. We can still command a massive fee for him next summer when Lewandowski & Kane will most likely need replacing
  17. He didn't travel to Glasgow. Was obviously pre arranged after leaving Austria (at the height of the speculation), and after he was already set to not play a single minute in the Celtic match
  18. Personal terms were only agreed with Trafford. Fact remains, there is ZERO indication to suggest that Liverpool are walking away from Ekitike.
  19. That not entirely true though is it. Romano said yesterday that a 6 year deal and personal terms were agreed with Ekitike. Liverpool have had first bid rejected by Frankfurt but are expected to offer a second proposal imminently. He also said that NOTHING has changed on Isak with Nufc still stating he is not for sale. I may be the "glass half full" type, but to me it sounds as if Ekitike is far more likely to join Liverpool than Isak
  20. Liverpool according to Ornstein offered Newcastle an ultimatum last week, "Give us Isak for £120m, or we'll go for Ekitike" It has since been reported that Newcastle told Liverpool in no uncertain terms that Isak was not for sale. This is further strengthened by reputable sources confirming that Newcastle walked away from Ekitike deal, as Liverpool quickly decided to enter negotiations + agree personal terms with the Frankfurt forward. There appears to be zero indication that the Ekitike deal has stalled, or have you seen any reports that would suggest otherwise?
  21. Where's he going to leave to then Gdm?, considering you seem 100% convinced he's leaving
  22. He can't promise that though can he. On the off chance the Saudis came in and offered £300m he'd be slaughtered by the fans
  23. I'll only start to worry if he's not on the plane to Singapore next week. Once again, Liverpool hijacking the Ekitike deal and agreeing terms with the player does not seem to indicate that Liverpool are confident in buying Isak this window.
