I don’t have much issue with his stance on Osula, he is a young project player and relative to the league he was “cheap” When he is speaking about a ready made Premier League forward he is speaking about players who typically cost a fortune We don’t have the funds to have 3 or 4 forwards who cost a fortune and are going to need to develop and polish talent like Osula which will take time. Howe has shown himself to be someone who wants to coach and develop players, deserve a bit of trust on that when it comes to Osula.
-
So the point is just a bit crap then, sound
-
Look at the bigger picture with Howe, it will be a lot better than the one with Bruce and Pardew even making mention of them is daft, the bigger picture extends to the body of work he’s put up which has been predominantly good hence he has credit in the bank with a lot of fans. We also aren’t just not fighting relegation, we are in a fight for the goals of the season which would, you’d expect, have been a European push and a trophy.
-
Its rare for all but about 3 teams in the league to go on a winning run in all honesty, it’s a bit of a false opposition, it’s predominantly about points collection which we are still doing at a reasonable rate, can that improve, of course. The season really isn’t the dumpster fire you’re trying to push here. He’s a good coach and demonstrated that often enough

See when Eddie is actually doing “shite” you won’t need online assessment and polls - watching us will tell you we are fortunate - our match going fans are well educate and have walked a lot of shite covered hills they know what “bad” actually looks like - we aren’t there yet, the support and watching us will tell you when we are. You don’t need to project it, what will actually happen will play out without imposing it on it
-
OK we currently, even with what we have won, sit 3 points off a European place. “10th” means fuck all without context of the league, it’s tedious to keep saying “10th” when Spurs and Villa are “8th” and “9th” The teams above us for the most part haven’t show they are “far more capable” hence why the league is so close or they’d have left pishy old us in the dust. Instead they also drop points to teams they shouldn’t as this league is marginal as fuck across about 14 teams. its gate keeping projection pish - other teams might improve? but we just can’t possibly do that, it’s so weird to think like that, but you keep hoping for the worst. until we actually are shite can you stop pretending we are, it’s strange as fuck to do that.
-
It is in the context of how the league season is playing out We have the same points as Villa and Spurs for fuck sake its not optimistic it’s reality, had we won today we’d have been 2 points off third
-
What we deserve is still, to go back to it, in the race for Europe and a Cup. “Crap” is hyperbole, but that’s what people feel makes a point stronger online.
-
Osula. I know because of PSR some think we need to buy players for 4 million etc but that’s a bit silly. He was 15 million, he’s cheap relative to the league he’s a project player signed to be developed it’s not that deep Either embrace a development model or don’t, he’s what it’s going to look like.
-
but for a penalty scored and a moment of daftness today we’d be joint third. Have we been great, no, not really. I just can’t get this world on fire thing quite yet personally
-
I don’t entirely agree with a lot of that it’s been bitty, at times we’ve looked closer to results than not
-
I’ve posted since, but it would be quite random for a manger in the hunt for Europe and a Cup to be sacked some seem to have no grasp of that and have spoke themselves into thinking we are going to be relegated
-
I think if you have a decent clutch of brain cells common sense would say he’s a fair bit to go before he’s sacked I get it though people read it so much online they talk themselves into it being truth that he’s a manager close to the sack
-
If you take yourself out the echo chamber some stick themselves in online he’s really not “that” close to being sacked. some folks online just become conditioned to their environment and think it to be reality.
-
Not the worst point wash your eyes with bleach performance.
-
You contradict any myth slightly by then saying we played well for a period of the game? In the first 30 minutes we should have scored a couple, it keeps being said teams will have a tactic and look at games like Brighton to give them confidence, the tactic of let a team miss loads of chances which seemed to be that which Brighton had.... I hope a lot of teams come to play us with that mindset
-
The harsh reality is we are going to be linked with players like Tavernier, likely sign players like that, this is the issue we are going to face and the league wants us to face, we are going to need to both find and sign cheap effective proven players for the league, young talent who will improve and absolute nailed on quality. It’s a bit wild to bemoan our policy of overspending and then be irked by us being linked to players we perceive to be undervalued and a fee of 10 million for him would be the kind of undervalued market we likely will look at even if nothing ever comes of his name being linked
-
Who was our next home game in the league after Brighton against again? I forgot I think teams actually watching the Brighton game in particular wouldn't have a want to play like them, or want to see us play like we did against them
-
Could have stopped there really.
-
I don’t think Van Nistelrooy will be much of a hit at all personally like, He wasn’t great at PSV pretty average season up against a shite Ajax and knocked out of a CL Qualifier by a rancid Rangers team, not much in his work so far, seems pretty under qualified for it to me
-
Miggy is always judged in the form he has been in since rather than the form he was in leading to last summer, never had an issue with him being our RW at the time
-
If West Ham and more so Brighton had a tactical plan it was quite crap for me regardless of how the game played out. Brighton in particular had a plan of what? give them loads of chances, they will miss and we might score one. I wouldn’t be enamored with a manager of ours playing that kind of football, that is absurdly high risk.
-
If you are watching much of Fulham and Brighton you would have also seen them be pretty poor, I mean Fulham weren't convincing in their last game were they? Spurs being up and down kind of is the point, they are, so are we, it's why all the sides being mentioned are only separated by 4 points, it is why our season wouldn't have been massively better based of one win, it is looking like Liverpool aside it is going to be a tight league where a lot of sides can beat each other, I don't see any of those other sides ever going on a massive run of form and leaving us behind personally. We haven't been great this season by any means but some seem to want to lean on a narrative the season is a bust, and it is far from that at the moment
-
I reckon you could go on the forum of any of those teams you mention and read the exact same assessment, we are pretty much in what is that chasing group form, evidenced by the table really.
-
The teams you have mentioned, their form and seasons they have been putting together is reason to have a bit of faith we can push for the top 5
