With hindsight we just need to enjoy the fact that for 2 or 3 years we had the best striker in the world. With hindsight, the guy did us and himself a favour. He’s going to bleed Liverpool dry of £300k+ a week for the next few years and he’s never going to be the player he was. We got good money for him and although Wissa has a lot to do prove his worth, I don’t see us losing much if anything on Waltemade.

He’s an absolute knob. So entitled. He talks with a weariness that suggests he could do a better job. I remember us regularly getting knocked out of cups to lower League sides. Now we pretty much only go out to better sides. Bobby Robson was one of the most respected managers ever and even he didn’t win anything here. Next season will tell if the problem this year was Eddie, or the fairly obvious fallout from having no structure and then having your star striker act like a penis.
