A number of questions:

Does he still know the game? Does he know who is good, who is shit, what type of football is now the norm in this league? Because it certainly isn't the same.

Does he know the transfer market? Will he know who could be snapped up relatively cheaply?

Does he have some new ideas? City fan at work says he was really out of ideas by the end.

Will the pressure be too much? However much backing we give him, the board may not be so kind. He quit a few jobs, can he handle it here now?

Viewing the excitement this has caused has rubbed off on me, this is a ridiculous lift (hope it has the same effect on the players, mind) and one we needed. Also, he's the only man who would be given time. Not even Shearer would get the same slack iyam.

If we start playing again, this is great for the short term. Still feel like we've missed out an opportunity to move forwards purposely and leave the Shepherd era behind once and for all.

I disagree about the missed opportunity, whatever happens with Keegan, I'm sure when he goes he'll leave a better club behind and one who can again look to appoint from a better pool of manager.

Who knows.  So much is being left to chance, really.

I can't answer them, only time can, but I will comment on the last one.

If the board don't back him after giving him what I can only assume is a massive contract and picking him ahead of all the other candidates, then they want a fucking kicking.

I think he'll be given money, he'll be given more time than anyone else would have... he does have unfinished business here and I can imagine that Mike Ashley is someone you'd want to have in the trenches with you, so to speak, the last time he went it's because the ground was moving beneath his feet. I can't see that happening again. If it does, then I'd be mortified.

Of course it's a massive gamble, it's an insane decision and it could only happen at Newcastle United, but fucking hell, it's exciting.

does he still know the game ? he was always prone to hyperbole so the idea that he hasn't watched a game in 3 years could fall in to this.

does he know who is good retc ? as above

the football that is the norm ?  would deschapmps know ? is boltons or arsenal the norm for this league. ? pass and move with good players will win more than lose and be entertaining

does he know the transfer market ? £5mill for chopra. £18mill for bent...who the fuck does know the market.

new ideas ? in my view, he got swept up by the whole managership thing, trying to be too tactical instead of doing the basics.

He said he hasn't watched a game live since his last game at Man City, which probably means in the flesh, he'll surely still have been watching on TV.

Watching that Gabby Logan interview now.
