The Name Of The Bar Barret Stops At Near Villa Park?

Bit too vague to have a guess, sorry.

Incidentally, anyone who goes to VP and doesn't drink at the Bartons Arms is missing out on a treat. One of the best, historical pubs in the city (dog rough area and a decent hike from the ground, mind), great beer and fantastic Thai food.

That's the one.

Lots of Villa support drink in there, but there's never any trouble with away fans when they show up (and the away fans that do show up seem to keep it a closely guarded secret, lest it get spoiled). Ive said more than I should

I wouldn't take much notice of Brummie, I remember reading his advice on here for going to St Andrews...

"Through the Bullring, turn left at the church and it's just down there"

About 2 miles down there and it was pissing down with rain.

Nah, Lad in the Lane is in Erdington - quite a walk from Villa Park

There's loads of pubs in the area, but if you want to get away from the main chaos I'd go to The Gosta Green, which is just off Aston Uni campus. It's a screen pub so relatively cheap, although it's still a 15-20 min walk. Or there's the Hare of the Dog, which is even closer - it's on Birmingham City Uni campus - Just literally down the road from Villa Park.

I'll be in the Gosta because my mate let me down trying to get me a ticket - he's a Villa Season Ticket holder. So relied on him instead of getting one myself.

The 100% correct answer to your question is "The Lad In The Lane".

Guest Brummiemag

Pubs near the ground (Cap and Gown) and by Aston Station (Swan and Mitre and Manor Tavern) are decent friendly pubs. Avoid the Adventurers though, its full of scumbags.

Travelling down from manc on the morning of the match.

Could anyone tell me the best station to go to and way of getting to the ground. Would be better if it wasn't an early kick off like.

Train from New St to Witton. Dead simple.

Definately stopped there with Toon travel before. Not sure if that's the one your thinking of though.

A big white place if i remember rightly. Normally well served by that point, so that may not be accurate.

The Lad in the Lane is on a Duel Carriageway by a nasty junction. It's straight down the road from Villa park. Although it's an extremely LONG road. So definitely not a short walk! I suppose you could call it bog white.

That's the one.

Still got 6 places with tickets if anyone fancies it. Hopefully arrive at pub for 9-30/10am
