Has the be the first game of the season, without doubt.

 

The biggest emotional reaction was when Andy Carroll scored against Stoke though. I hope it goes down to have meant something.

Gerrard's performance at SJP; it was a master-class and, because he was so good, I hardly minded the thrashing (stupid enough to think that it wouldn't matter so much, the difference between 15th and 16th, I thought).

Shay Given was the best player on the pitch that day even though he conceded 5.

Gerrard was class don't get me wrong, but Shay was absolutely immense.
