Torres is a fucking machine. Why Man United and Chelsea didn't go for him a couple of years back I'll never know.

Agree but I suppose they'll just have to get by with Rooney/Tevez and Drogba/Shevchenko.

They haven't done too badly all things considered.

Anyway, personally I'm very pleased to see all the English teams have made it to the next round.

Another strong chance of an all English final.

I'm not, I can't stand any of them and I really hope they all face foreign teams in the next round and none make the final.

I just feel its strange with so many english teams in the next round and you are so proud, and dont even have a national side when the championship starts.

Isnt that kind of weird and horrible for you?

It's all about the league mate ;)

Personally, I'd rather have no English teams in Europe (unless it's us) and still see England in the Championships, so I agree with your point.

It means fuck all really. None of the aforementioned clubs have English managers and they all rely on mainly foreigners for their success, with the obvious exceptions of Cole, Terry, Gerrard, Carragher, Rooney and Ferdinand

"Weird" and "Horrible" are not exatcly the words I would use, seeing as England not qualifying didn't massively affect me.

Typical Liverpool performance.

I said it earlier this season but I'll say it again; they're stronger than they were a year ago, stronger than they were when they won it, and they're absolutely unbeatable in the knockout stages - they're the favourites. Been there done that sorta thing. Maybe they don't match up individually with the likes of Man Utd or Barca, but as a team, in this competition, they're awesome.

I hear what you're saying but I still don't think they'll win it. Benitez certainly knows how to set up a team to win a one-off game and they'll be tough to beat but I'd fancy all 3 English teams left in it to knock them out if it comes down to brass tacks.

I never expected him to score this many goals, proved me wrong like.

Aye.

I've been calling the lad over-rated for the last few years. Never overly impressed when I saw him.

2133: The two sets of fans are applauding each other now - a lovely moment, it must be said.

How come when we played at the San Siro, we had piss and flares thrown at our fans, and Liverpool - of all supporters - get showered with affection?

At the end of the Anfield match, we gave their team a round of applause, and their fans a round of applause, along with all the mutual respect.

So you didn't throw shit at them in paper cups then?

Respect.

I'd bet my house on them beating Chelsea in the CL. Easily.

Arsenal... I'm unsure about.

Out of everyone left in it I'm only confident that the mancs would beat them.

Don't think I could take another cup tie between those 2.

England are too busy trying to keep Gerrard as some kind of defensive midfielder instead of what he does for LFC. Probably not now though with Capello in charge.

As a LFC supporter, I'm worried most against Arsenal. I think we can beat most in a two legged game though, but Arsenal I'd worry about in a two legged game. Out of EVERYTHING though, I really don't want to spend 5 hours playing my DS while I wait for tickets. Don't let the Everton supporting gobshite convince you otherwise either.

Inter fans really like Liverpool because of what we did to AC Milan in 2005. There were tribute sites to Dudek from Inter fans, forum threads with hundreds of pages of thanks, and a group of Inter fans invited some Liverpool fans they met over to Italy, making them T-shirts and everything.

The only team that I really don't want to play in the CL is Man Utd. I don't want Chelsea either, because the games are so boring, but only Man Utd worries me. Still, I'd prefer to avoid the other English sides if possible, but I'm sure Platini will be chilling those balls on Friday to make sure the English sides get pitted against each other.

Frankly, I don't understand why the bookies have Barcelona and the other English sides ahead of Liverpool. Since Rafa arrived, we've been the best team in the CL after, arguably, AC Milan, and I don't see why we're not the team to beat. In the last 5 CL games, we've scored 19 goals and conceded 1. Over 2 legs in Europe, we can beat anyone.

I totally agree. I've just stuck £5 on you to win it now.

Though I have to say I'd be happier if I lost that bet ;)
