You've honestly not got enough joy from watching Beardsley play to put him in the first XI? I'm amazed by that.

Of course, but more than my boyhood hero Cole and Shearer? No.

Boyhood? Mid 20's by that time weren't you?

Given

Venison Woodgate Albert Beresford

Solano Lee Speed Sellars

Shearer Cole

Very hard to leave out the likes of Beardsley, Ginola, Robert and Sir Les et al.

Bit of a lack of flair in that team tbh, your Allardyce-esque obsession with hard-workers knows no bounds...

Seriously though, I'd struggle to justify putting Cole in ahead of Beardsley, especially with Shearer already in the team to provide the goals.

My selection is based on faves of mine or players I've had more joy watching play rather than the best players or best possible lineup.

If I was going to pick a side based on ability and balance I'd go with the following:

Given

Beye Woodgate Albert Enrique

Solano Lee Batty Ginola

Shearer Beardsley

Enrique's done canny well like, seeing as a couple of weeks ago you never rated him.

He's completely won me around, never said I never rated him btw though, said he was average which I then went on to say was harsh. He's in there for balance anyway, him and Ginola.... that would be some pairing. Enrique's strength and distribution from defending positions to Ginola's wing wizardry.

Batty was class as well when we brought him in that season, gets a lot of unfair stick.

Agree, Batty very nearly went in my team as my defensive midfielder, but lost out to speed, toss of a coin

Look HTT, we clearly know better than you. Do you want advice on anything else whilst we're here?

Aye, how would I go about telling someone they are a cunt, without getting myself banned?

Mick Mahoney (super goalie) was NUFC's best ever keeper.

Nattrass and Kennedy the best full backs

Stuart Boam was brilliant in a team with a crap forward line and midfield

No,  he just had the best keepers song

Be that as it may - he saved more pens in less games than Given ever has.

I rate him better than Given, with plenty to spare.

Dyer.

Martins ahead of Bellamy.  mackems.gif mackems.gif

Martins keeps himself fit and scores goals.

Dyer over Lee and Batty in my time, yeah.

Martins has not proved to be as consistently good for us as Bellamy was.

Martins has been here less than half the time that Bellamy was, yet is only seven goals away from Bellamy's Premiership record. Brilliant player, and probably not much argument that he was a better footballer, but this is an all-time XI with the best defenders, best midfielders, best strikers. Martins' record has and will piss on Bellamy's.

Controversial i know but i'm sticking with it.  Bellamy was in and out far too much imo.
