A bright spot in the defense -- can't remember him being at fault for any of the far-too-numerous goals let in this season. Given? How's he even in for it? Taylor? See above. Milner? No. Decent, but hardly player of the season material. Martins? Deserves to be in the running, but he's a striker, and he wasn't even the best of the strikers, imo. So certainly not best of them all. Butt? Wins second place for me, of this field. Just squeaks by Owen, because at least Butt played in the entire season. Then again, a few matches we might have wished he wasn't fit (I've had that feeling about Smith). Owen? Player of the second-half of the season, by a mile, in my opinion. But "Player of the Season" would, ostensibly, include that first half where he was out as much as in, due to fitness.
