Depends on who wins the cups doesn't it? I think I read somewhere that the FA cup runner up doesn't get the European place if if the winners have already qualified from this season on. What happens if Man U win the League Cup? Then whoever comes 6th gets a Uefa cup spot, I'm taking for granted that Man Utd will finish higher than 6th of course. Because the UEFA Cup winners automatically go into the competition the next season I think. So I was just wondering if that was the case, whether they'd claim their UEFA Cup spot for winning it, and our league would still get a UEFA Cup spot anyway. I see what you're saying, I just don't see why the intertoto had to go - that was another route to europe. We get 2 UEFA spots through the FA and Carling cups.. I don't know, it just seemed a bit more balanced with 4 of each to me. With only 1 UEFA spot now I think it'll segregate the league even more. I don't see us finishing 5th any time soon.
