Its like a horrible, horrible nightmare that I can't wake up from....

It is just awful and to think it will/could get a shit load worse over the next 2 months.

I can see if being bad for years. I really cant think how long it might take us to recover from this mis-management.

Ashley is never going to be able to sell us so I can see us being under his "guidance" for a few years yet

might come down to a FS style good luck appointment (uncle bobby)

What was lucky about appointing a world class manager with a world class CV who knew and genuinely cared about the area? Not like it was the first time we'd been in for him either.

Could it be that the club insurance wouldn't cover JFK coming back? Or his insurance? He can defy his wife/family/pet dog but if the insurance brokers say no he can't return.

But would that leave us with the gruesome twosome? Or would it give Llambias an excuse to bring in someone decent (well as decent as he could find and try to persuade to join us).

:kinnear:

The city of Newcastle has invested £250m in cultural attractions over the last 10 years. Theres the Sage Gateshead, the music centre designed by Lord Foster, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and the Theatre Royal.

Those'll be in Gateshead then?

Then theres the greatest landmark of all: Newcastle United Football Club.

It may not attract too many high-brow art and opera-lovers but its appeal to Newcastles historic, grass-roots community is such that 50,000 fans out of a total population of 271,000 turned up for their last home match.

Come on Howard, if you are going to quote places that are in Gateshead then at least include Gateshead's population and preferably the rest of Tyneside's to Newcastle's when saying where Newcastle's grass roots football community comes from.

that does include Gateshead. Newcastle's population alone is just under 200,000

The metropolitan borough of Gateshead has a population of 190,000, whereas Newcastle's borough population is 271,000 which is where Howard got his figure from. He is manipulating the figures to make us look more passionate for dramatic effect.

The article does hit bullseye after bullseye in a tab normally associated with bullsh*t after bullsh*t.

In a nutshell the underlying reason in my opinion behind the continuing debacle that Mike 'reverse Midas touch' Ashley is presiding over he is that is using many aspects of the business model of selling cheap tat to the masses that worked so well at Sports Direct in his running of NUFC.  He's tried to do everything on the cheap whether it be backroom staff or players, hedging his bets that we would stay up whatever the net investments that were made and its now dawned on even him that it will most likely come back to bite him on the arse! When is he going to listen to the 'customers' ie the fans, who have been stating the obvious since last September!?

It is absolutely insane like, that's what the word is - insane. Irrespective of his actual ability, the bloke could die on the touchline ffs. That should be an instant no-go area. If players can't pass medicals, how the hell would this alleged manager ever do so?

Its best for all if he steps down the thought of watching a man dying infront of me is not a nice thought.

if ashley is worried about screwing kinnear over or not repaying loyalty then he should give him a cushy backroom position, chief french scout complete with provence villa as his pay-off. anything to get him out of the manager's position.

Its one of the biggest no-brainers ever that Joe simply can't take the helm back, simple as.  How many warning signs are needed ffs?
