Would still love to have Hodgson as our boss.

Me too, would do wonders here too with our small budget.  He has a really long contact list across Europe.

As well as experiance, respect and a whole host of other attributes that make him a top coach and a likeable bloke.

His contact list is a bit useless.

The following players you don't need any special contact list

Mark Schwarzer

Stephen Kelly

John Pantsil

Seol Ki-Hyeon

Andrew Johnson

Zoltán Gera

David Stockdale

Andranik Teymourian

Damien Duff

Pascal Zuberbühler

Dickson Etuhu

Jonathan Greening (on loan from West Bromwich Albion)

Bobby Zamora

The following players you need more extensive scouting - but only Hangeland is a success, maybe Nevland

Brede Hangeland (vice-captain)

Erik Nevland

Bjørn Helge Riise

Fredrik Stoor

Toni Kallio

Kagisho Dikgacoi

David Elm

I'd point more toward what he's done with those players.

He hardly needed extensive scouting on Hangeland, since he has been his manager before at Viking, and Hangeland has CL experience with FC Copenhagen, and plays regularly for Norway. Your point stands though.

Read a touching story about him and how he writes his families names on his  shin pads to remind him who he's playing for.
