"I played and was reasonably pleased even though I didn't score. I thought this is the first of many squads. At the start of last season, I was playing well but I had totally adapted to the situation.

 

"I couldn't jump off my left leg so had to adjust and start to do it with my right. As a result, I could not jump as well.

 

"I couldn't shoot with my left foot as well, so I had to change the way I hit the ball so everything was a curl rather than a clean strike. People probably didn't notice as I was playing OK.

 

Fucking hell.

Suprised we are not in for him now.  Shame for the lad, always thought he was a decent player.

Bring him in for a striker's coach role?

if he can't jog he won't be able to be even a coach. will be tough for him to find a new career outside of football so i hope he can be a pundit or something.

i really hope so, it's heartbreaking to see any player (with such potential) curtailed like this at such a young age

hopefully he can come through physio ok and live a 'normal' life in the future, ideally doing something related to football in some way

This sort of thing makes me wonder about the likes of Tony Green.  Canny sad when you think about it.
