Recommended Posts

Dunfermline have been thrown out of the Scottish Cup for fielding an ineligible player against Stenhousemuir, but the Pars intend to appeal.

Dunfermline ran out 7-1 winners against Stenhousemuir, but Calum Woods, who should have been suspended, featured as a second half substitute.

As a result of the administrative the SFA looked into the matter and they have now decided to expel the Pars from the competition.

Dunfermline have confirmed they plan to appeal the sanction feeling they have been harshly dealt with.

As it stands Stenhousemuir face the prospect of having a money-spinning fifth round tie against Celtic if the Glasgow giants overcome Morton in their reaaranged fourth round clash.
