mrmojorisin75
it was surely the worst managerial appointment in many, many years at international level anyway, if not the worst ever the equivalent of giving Gazza the England job just after his playing days had finished Messi must be mortified that he's essentially been fucked over in 2 world cups now by awful, awful management (on a personal level that is)

He was brought in to get them qualification which he achieved. He used a fair few players but that has been massively skewed by the press as he has called up solely South American based players for friendlies etc. As i said next manager they appoint has a big job ahead of him, as Argentina have a ridiculous number of talented players and the chance to win the Copa on home soil espcially with Brasil potentially in a period of transisition. merlin
Hope it's the last we see of him. Agreed - obviously SOMEONE at the AFA has a degree of sanity....
ujpest doza
he wasn't sacked. he was offered a 4 year contract but some of his coaching staff weren't so he resigned on a point of principal as he wanted to keep all of his backroom team together. This much is true. Basically, He was offered a contract but he said that he would only sign if he kept ALL of his backroom staff but the Argentine FA were not up for that deal so he just refused the contract. Pretty good record at international level though but i am sure he will be Argentina's manager again at some point. Lets face it, his little spell as Manager is probably keeping him in Coke for a few years . . .

Guest
I've noticed there's no Otamendi in the Argie squad, so looks as if Coloccini's replaced him.
Ridman
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/soccer/08/12/veron.maradona.ap/index.html?eref=si_soccer&utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed:+rss/si_soccer+%28SI.com+-+Soccer%29 Find it a bit funny that Veron is the one criticizing him seeing how no other coach in the world would have picked Veron for the world cup squad, let alone let him start.
