:)

I can remember that vividly - that was when Beardsley got his 200th league goal (or something like that) and grabbed his son who was a ball boy in the Gallowgate.

Juninho was a superb little footballer, but everyone pissed themselves laughing at him squaring up to Albert.

Toughest footballer I have ever seen and there's been a few to choose from.

He dished it out but was also regularly on the receiving and never complained to a referee or asked for a free kick etc. Just got up and got on with it.

Yeah, we had a few tough lads.

I feel like the Premier League put an end to it all, Batty was the last of that era of tough midfield players, as the rules got more strict, and more and more premadonna's arrived in the league, the tough man midfield player phased out.

Les Ferdinand can still remember the incident clearly - Batty had his hand around Butt's neck at one point - and the former No 9 admits the Yorkshireman would 'tackle a brick wall for you'.

"You always knew at some stage of a game he was going to get himself into a little bit of a tear up," Ferdinand told ChronicleLive.

"If there was a little tear up when I was on the pitch and he was inevitably involved, I would say something to him and he would just have a wry little grin on his face as if to say, 'Well, you know what I do and how I do it'. And that was it."

[emoji38] Watch Batty punch Isias first but somehow come off worse.

Batty gets up and laughs about it.

Best thing of all was, Isias shite himself at the end of the game doing a houdini, knowing Batty was going to murder him.

Away vs Metz was a night where the iconic 95 shirt was forced to be played without the Newcastle Brown Ale sponsor on the shirt, forcing our fans to turn up with a gigantic inflatable Newcastle Brown Ale bottle in response.
