Still Not Worthy Of A Thread

It's basically as it is now with Sky and BT swapping which Saturday live match they have plus Sky now getting some Friday night matches isn't it? How much was the last TV deal worth?

How does this compare to the current deal?

an inaccurate off the top of my head guess would be an increase from 3 to 5 billion

Astonishing Premier League TV deal means that Sky & BT are paying more than £10MILLION for each & every single match the broadcast live

2016-17 season, the bottom club will receive circa £99 million.

That near enough covers his initial investment in NUFC.

Fucking ludicrous and no chance he'll leave anytime soon. If at all.

:anguish: Friday night games.

Think it's an excellent idea myself. Quite often watch the Championship match in that slot, great way to start the weekend.

Aye he's never going. The figure is going to increase to at least £8bn by the time the foreign rights are sold. Next time I think it may break the £10bn mark for domestic games.

Is there any word on the highlights package?

I think this should be used to let fans in for next to nothing since the income from match day is already irrelevant.

Friday night matches sounds great it doesn't involve Newcastle, but for match going fans it's gonna be a bit of a fuck on for a lot of people.

Those numbers are bloody scary, man. What is football? Any other league is completely pointless now, as quality players will end up at mediocre clubs. Basically, all the problems of current football are about to get magnified even more.

Nah. Saturday (and Sunday if absolutely necessary) is for football. More time to build up to it. I'm a complete traditionalist.

We've already got games on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. No need for more football midweek and its just a nuisance for away fans.

With European football, we potentially have Premier League sides playing matches everyday of the week.
