Yorkie Posted Thursday at 14:01 Share Posted Thursday at 14:01 Ffs of all the kits/seasons. We didn't even wear that half and half one competitively.

Kid Icarus Posted Thursday at 14:30 Share Posted Thursday at 14:30 TBF it was a vintage season Seems like it's a decision based on how old the people who are likely to buy it are or something. We still had a nice squad that season, it's insane that the above is our results from for the 2014 part and we still finished 10th.

Harry 209 Posted Thursday at 14:40 Share Posted Thursday at 14:40 Actually cant believe they've produced retro shirts of 13/14. Pardew, Kinnear, Ashley, finishing below Southampton and Stoke, Wonga.

Harry 209 Posted Thursday at 14:43 Share Posted Thursday at 14:43 (edited) oh and add in getting beat off the Mackems 3-0 at home and 4-0 thrashings at home to Man U and Spurs. Such golden memories of 13/14! We really should be getting an official adidas 96 remake in long sleeves for xmas, but instead we are getting 13-14 remake. Unbelieveable. First half of that season however was arguably a better side that played better football than the 2011-12 side. Remember Palace away (on my 13th birthday that, fucking hell ), that West Ham away game (Cabaye's last game for us) was canny, finally winning at Old Trafford, Liverpool at home, Chelsea at home all being class games. However, after beating Stoke 5-1 on Boxing Day, we were 6 points off top, with Arsenal who were top at the time at home next. Then sold Cabaye, Pardew absolutely clueless on how to play any semblance of football without him and that second half of the season you've screenshotted happened. An absolutely depressing time. Other than my own personal nadir of Bruceball during COVID, as my first year at uni distracted me from it mostly pre-COVID, that second half of 2013-14 was the most miserable I've ever been as a Newcastle fan. What you've snapshotted there is definitely one of the spikes of the Ashley era. SackPardew.com, 'celebrating' defeats, beginning of the in-fighting, the realisation that we didn't want to compete, being told by all and sundry to be happy with our lot. I was apathetic and angry but, unlike the Bruce days, I still believed then that changing the manager would change anything. Hideous.

Having Remy that season was very nice like, that side had loads of natural talent in it. I dunno if I remember us playing better that season than that nice run in 11-12 that included West Brom away, Liverpool and Stoke at home, but I was at the 13/14 Stoke match and it was fun like, HBA absolutely took the piss, it was great. 2014 was what inspired SackPardew IIRC, it was that terrible. Mad that that was 10 years ago.

Short/medium term it didn't, but without the mere presence of Benitez galvanising the fanbase again for a short time there's no takeover.

Fak Posted Thursday at 15:14 Share Posted Thursday at 15:14 (edited) The only Puma kit that should be remade (if any) would be the 2010/11 one in our first season back: Sunderland 5-1, Villa 6-0, Arsenal 4-4, Ben Arfa at Everton. The following season when we bagged 5th was obviously more memorable but the shirt was shocking. Everything Puma knocked up after that was either tat and worn during a thoroughly miserable era. Kid Icarus Posted Thursday at 15:16 Share Posted Thursday at 15:16 I remember settling on not caring about 'being careful what I wished for', it got to the point that until Pardew went we would never move on to targetting Ashley. I think we all lost a lot of romaniticised ideas we had before the Ashley-era around that period like.
