Wormy, Stev,

Agree with you both, i've read their terms and conditions and strictly speaking the ticket cannot be transferred at all.

Given the circumstances and loyalty involved i'd expect a ticking off and 'reminded' of the terms and conditions.

We also weren't made aware of the actions which have followed. We have only found out due to my mate laid up at home checking his tickets for Liverpool and Brentford to find they've disappeared.

Hindsight a wonderful thing but yes, we weren't aware it could be removed from apple wallet and re-downloaded. Also had no/limited signal around the ground at 7.10pm on Monday to arrange this.

Was it just a one-off ticket?  Doesn't matter now like but you just forward the e-mail with the NFC link to another address and it works.

Was 4 together but the lad who couldn't make it had already downloaded to apple wallet.

So forwarding email wouldn't have let the other fan download the ticket again.

Was a bit of a scramble at 7pm at the ground too so we had no signal to arrange it all in that way.

Genuine mistake and by technicality they could refuse doing anything but it would be fairly upsetting as life time match-going fans to be treated this way.

You can download it then remove it and it will download to another device. I wasn't aware of this until Monday but it worked no problem.

Yeah, as @Wallsendmag mentioned, things happening the day of the game, especially last minute, really does create an issue to prevent the ticket just going unused now.

Make sure you don’t just accept this though. If you can find the appropriate channels to go through and you get to speak to someone reasonable at the Box Office (there are some…), they should hopefully view things a bit more sensibly.

Written a formal complaint to send through to Matt Willis (support liaison officer) and Stephen Tickle (box office manager).

Worst case a warning and slap on the wrist not to do again. We've been going to games at SJP for 20 years - feels way over the top to cancel the above mentioned games and membership all season.

Genuine touts out there wouldn't exactly try print a ticket in the box office!

Absolutely shocking treatment, that.

I met and chatted to Matt Willis for a bit at the end of the ballot workshop thing back in February. He's a sound bloke, about early 30s in age, used to go home and away and on the same page as many of us regarding ticketing stuff. Hopefully he sorts it out for you.

Cheers appreciate this. Hindsight wonderful thing and would've been the easy thing to do then but it was a bit rushed as we wanted to get in early to watch the easy win against the hammers [emoji38]

Hope common sense prevails mate. You've tried to do the right thing and been honest and up front and the club have acted completely irrationally here and even if technically it is against the rules the "crime" certainly doenst warrant the punishment. To be honest you've also been extremely unlucky with the woman who dealt with you. She's well known for being extremely rude and unhelpful. Been in twice now when she's had full blown rows with supporters and on both occasions they werenin the right. My guess is that if you'd been dealt with by anyone else this doesn't happen as the rest of them, especially the young lads who work in there are generally sound.

Meanwhile the club are happy to turn a blind eye of livetickets.com touting seats for £200+ for every home game. Makes you sick.

Cheers, sent an email off to Matt Willis and the supporters services so will see what we get back.

Dear Matt

We tried to do the right thing and get a paper ticket from the box office even though, when he sells tickets on, that Wallsendmag just deletes the ticket from the app and sends the punter the email.

Regards JP

I'd just actively avoid even speaking with them.  That ginger bint is a horrible piece of work - she's been at that place years and not sure whats her issue, but face like she's chewing a wasp and someones shat on her car bonnet - constantly.

However there are some who are good.

But yes, I'd engage with the Trust too, as it seems that despite talking about the situation with a box office member, nothing was explained to you.  Also removing someones tickets/membership without actively investigating what happened is one for the Trust/Supporter services too.  There'll be some consumer rights thing about goods not received etc too most likely.

Agree with having strict rules to prevent touting, but sounds like it was very clear to the woman this was a genuine situation involving no touting, meanwhile actual touting is not being tackled - it's shocking treatment of a fan and she could very easily have not done it, her hands were not tied here. Hope you get manage to kick up a fuss and get it sorted.
