Newcastle United 2-2 Bournemouth (17/02/24) | Reaction: pg 34

Personally I think if we are going to play livremento at LB, we need a left footer ahead of him, unfortunately that only leaves almiron. The reason being is that we seem to depend on the right boot of trippier to create chances which makes us so one dimensional. As semenyo proved, you can still be a goal threat without cutting inside.

However, I don't agree with the crowd getting on Dan burn and almirons back, they are limited players that were never long term solutions. It's not like Dan burn will start running like Usain bolt. It's down to the manager, it's down to the manager, and there are those that probably admire his loyalty to the players and those who quite rightly point out that it's costing us a lot of points.

Maybe with schar injured, burn gets to move in the centre? Which solves a problem without having to drop the player and give him a vote of no confidence.

Now if we were talking about making cut throat decisions.....you could argue that Lascelles deserves to play ahead of botman and burn at CB (never thought Id say that)

Ps - pleased for Matt Richie, he gets a load of shite hoyed his way and unfairly.

When he came on Newcastle improved and did more in 10 mins than some players did in 90. Didn't lose the ball, give us a better outlet on the right, and played some great forward passes. Also, the place he got himself in the box was not where you'd find almiron too often.

I was more frustrated with Burn playing as some sort of attacking midfielder and breaking up some of our moves in the box.

Almost like he was trying to overcompensate for his defensive shortcomings.

was tryng too hard.

in one move took the ball off bruno's toes just as he was advancing towards the 6 yard box.

You guys talking about the situation in the first half where Burn ran into the box, had better momentum and was better positioned to score than Bruno, but you like Bruno more than Burn so try to make it out that Burn was in the wrong and Bruno in the right?

Would rather have the attacking player that can shoot, rather than have the makeshift limited LB do it.

Besides the point that Bruno would have been too late to shoot cleanly at goal because he would have had to adjust his body while Burn was facing and running towards their goal, Burn has scored more than Bruno this season.

The lucky slices and headers doesnt make him a Schar.

It's not about scoring but being out of position... Similar to the Luton goal the other week when he pushed up to the edge of their box and the fast counter attack caught him out.

I want last year's defence first approach and the odd clean sheet to build our confidence back up
