nufcjb
A real toss up between Howe and Keegan for me but based on success, I'd go Eddie to pip it. I would also say perhaps the way we end it with Eddie eventually will be decisive for some like me. I'd also go Rafa over SBR. No disrespect to SBR. Absolute legend to me in his time here. Can remember some of our greatest games under him but Rafa made me support the cloob again, made me want success for him and the team and he was working under an absolutely wank owner but stayed and got us back up to where we belong today. And ofcourse the takeover started with him too I believe. 1. Howe 2. Keegan 3. Rafa 4. SBR 5. Hughton absolute last would be that utter so called Geordie,ManUtd underwear wearing, kebab and bacon munching, cabbagehead moron gobshite, Steve 'i was abused by online Geordies' Bruce. GOTONEW
I feel extremely lucky to love and support a club that has had managers who are objectively epic, and that I can't split the number one position for (Keegan and Howe). AND 2nd position is Sir bobby Robson! Incredibly lucky. Keegan absolutely exploded this club and did something no other human could have done. He made us reach for the stars. Howe has done something none before him for generations: He brought real, tangible success.
St. Maximin
21 hours ago, Wolfcastle said: Went backwards under him in every way and were just waiting to be relegated when he left. Kinnear and McLaren didn't take us discernably backwards just presided over continued shambles. Our results under Kinnear would have kept us up too. Was getting better than a point a game and 35 would have kept us up but he was living joke of a manager. I agree with all of this tbh, but that doesn’t make him our worst ever manager. He had a largely crap squad with as I said worse players with hindsight than other teams in relegation battles, and he hardly inherited a squad that was comfortable under Rafa. We finished off well under him but before that were constantly battling relegation - remember fighting it out with Cardiff for a while. McLaren on the other hand did inherit a squad that only stayed up on the last day if I recall right, but it was way too strong to be in that position when he took over and had money to spend. We at least managed to have fun brief spells under Bruce, abysmal as the football was. Anyway that’s enough Bruce defending here… just to be comfortably above relegation twice with that squad shows we’ve had worse.
