Come on HTL are you going to let us know what it was that Barton has done this year that compares to hitting a team mate with a golf club?

Knocking over some blokes Tizer before skull fucking one of the queens Corgis?

Can't find much evidence mind, but the dorty fecker hasn't denied it.

The most I have found is the swearing at the police thing or whatever it was, which he was cleared of today and the foul on Mendez, which the FA decided to take no further action today.

I really hope its not one of those  No doubt HTL will do his "Me to know and you to find out" thing he was doing the other day if it is though because it will look a bit daft (being kind).

Didn't Barton put a cigar out on a youth team player's face? ...And show his arse to away fans at the end of a game? There has been more as well IIRC. Certainly been in about as much bother as Bellamy has since leaving us.

A lot of footballers are utter cunts though, they're only human like. Meet plenty more cunts out on a wander through the Toon than you would find in a dressing room.

HTL said it happened THIS year when I was making a point about how Barton has possibly grown up and gotten over his issues when Bellamy clearly hasn't.

No offence but if you are going to bring up things to prove me wrong can you read exactly what point it is I am trying to make first?

The arse incident was this year, wasn't it? Are we talking 2007, or this footballing year?

Was it not the "past couple of years" asked about? I did read the thread previously and I can't recall HTL asking about "this year" in particular (all 7 weeks of it!)

In any case, do you actually believe Barton has reformed his attitude that quickly?

I'm not a fan of Barton but the lad seems to be at least trying to get his act together, he's been on an anger management course and hasn't been in any trouble since that I know of.

STORY: City seeks Barton justice - Belfast Telegraph

City seeking Barton justice

[Published: Friday 16, February 2007 - 12:39]

By Andy Hunter

Manchester City have written to Hampshire Police for an explanation as to why Joey Barton was alleged to have made offensive gestures to Portsmouth supporters at Fratton Park last weekend.

City are furious with what manager Stuart Pearce has described as a "witch-hunt", with Portsmouth, a senior steward at Fratton Park and the local police force accused of making Barton a victim of reputation following his dangerous challenge on Pedro Mendes during the visitors' 2-1 defeat.

Officials from the club have been in talks with their Portsmouth counterparts over the past 48 hours and are believed to have asked for an apology from Harry Redknapp for accusing the midfielder of deliberately attempting to injure Mendes. They also want an explanation as to why a complaint the 24-year-old made offensive gestures at full time was passed on to the media by a Portsmouth steward. City are prepared to lodge a protest with the Independent Police Complaints Commission.

"An unnamed officer at Hampshire police purported to have seen something that did not happen," said City spokesman Paul Tyrrell. "We have written to the police asking for an explanation."

The Football Association, which this week charged Portsmouth manager Redknapp with allegedly abusing the match official Mike Dean over his handling of Barton's challenge, have received the complaint from Hampshire Police and are considering whether disciplinary action is required.

Tyrrell added: "We would like to think the FA will expedite this so we can put the matter to bed. We have spoken to the FA because there is clearly no evidence of Joey conducting himself in anything other than the right and professional way."

FA drop Barton case - Football Association will take no further action against Manchester City midfielder

The Football Association have decided to take no further action against Manchester City's Joey Barton following his tackle which injured Portsmouth's Pedro Mendes at Fratton Park 10 days ago and despite complaints from Pompey fans he had made offensive gestures.

The FA have been in contact with Hampshire Police after the constabulary issued a statement that something "of concern" had occurred at the end of the match. But an FA spokesman said: "From the investigations we have made and the information received there is not enough evidence to proceed with any action against Joey Barton."

The verdict will delight City manager Stuart Pearce who has stood up loyally for his controversial midfielder.

However, it will not please Pompey boss Harry Redknapp, who had claimed the England international had deliberately stamped on Mendes and that anybody who thought it was an accident "needs their head looking at".

The 24-year-old was only booked by referee Mike Dean for his 41st-minute challenge from behind which resulted in Mendes being carried off on a stretcher. Redknapp's protestations to Dean for stronger action have landed him with an FA charge of verbally abusing a match official - he has until next Monday to request a personal hearing.

Mendes, however, is given a good chance of making his comeback in Pompey's next match at Blackburn on Sunday after scans showed he had only badly bruised his Achilles tendon.

That's all there is really to Joey Barton "this year"...

I'm still at a loss to when "this year" was mentioned. I've read back over the thread again, and looked at both GeJon & HTL's posts and can't find HTL saying anything about "this year", the couple of years comments were made and then it suddenly just changed to "this year" a bit later, but not from the auld bugger.

Apologies if I've missed something, I'm just trying to dull the bickering by discovering that there's actually nowt to be arguing about at all, hopefully bringing an end to this latest episode of spoilage.

Barton and Bellamy are both prize arseholes by all accounts, it's not something that we can really measure either.

This apparently happened after the anger management, an' all Guardian Story

For the record, I don't think I'd want either at Newcastle at the current time anyway. I'm not on any side here.

If Bellamy indeed DID beat Riise with a golfclub, then it's surely not much of a stretch to say that Barton probably hasn't done anything that bad this season! Nothing reported, at least.

Surely that bit is undeniable, though?
