Some of the people who post the most here would better employ their time keeping rabbits. Oh well, never mind the quality feel the width.

I take it from your comment that you didn't read it all.

Yes read that. The fact is that one person's s*** post is another's example of insight or wit or whatever. But my comment was intended to be light-hearted, a paraphrase of Edith Sitwell, only she referred to most people writing today would better...

Do these count as three towards my total then?

Certainly do. ;)

Just to clarify, we are NOT restricting posts, only starting threads. People can still give any opinion they like, in others' threads. The 'shit posts' we're on about are pretty clear tbh.

I can't post more; I'm not particularly angry with FFS and I'm not ITK, but you probably already know.

Honestly, I can't understand the fixation some people have with the need to control everything.

I don't think there was a problem with too many threads started recently. And if, what's the problem. I actually think it is often better when things are discussed in different threads as different conversation develop while this is often hindered when various dialogues are mixed up in just one thread. The only thing I understand is the need of match threads to stop hundred of imbeciles of posting GOAAAALLLL (or with the variation of GOOOAAAL or GET IN!!! SHEARAAAA etc.).

If a thread is a duplicate and not worth a reply with better threads existing it will wander down the page quickly. So basically a forum mostly moderates itself without the need for a bunch of mini Hitlers in Gestapo costumes patrolling and deciding about the worthiness of threads/posts.

And I am actually rather tempted to read threads started from new posters than some of the drivel certain existing numpties post again and again...

Anyway, this thread gave me the idea of opening a pub where I restrict people of starting discussions. They must have drunk more than 100 pints there before. They are of course free to take part in other discussions. But people who start already existing discussions will be moved to a different table of course. I

If only that were true.  Like, even in the slightest bit.

can understand why some think that the bigger posters are still offenders of shit posts but a rule like this would certainly cover any big talking points and new members starting wind up or "dig" threads.

Surely this thread should have been locked and stickied after the original post, with a link directed to general chat where the matter could have been discussed further. This is not a football related topic.

Good point. However, people simply do NOT read stickied posts, and the vast majority will not venture into GC, even if a link took them there.

Any excuse for a dig, I suppose?

Take it like you want. But it is something I really don't like at forums in general (and control freaks are as much an integral part of the internet as trolls etc.) and I can't get my head around how otherwise clever people really see the need for those kind of things.

You would not think that something like this is needed, But there has been so many threads lately that have been shit and not in a need of a new thread.

But i also think that it's good that we dont post alot of shit that has nothing to do with the subject of the thread.

Sometimes people go into arguing like fucking akilles vs hector in troy and hijacks the thread with alot of shit that many others are not interested to read since it has nothing to do with the subject..

In my experience it is, and I have moderated forums myself.

And like it or not, but one of the best administrated football forum on the internet imho is the smb where they don't make that much of fuzz about all these things.
