Big Sam is 1st class at getting the very best out of average players, and that is exactly what Luque is .... Average.

Say what you want about how Luque has done at Newcastle, his commitment ect.  But that comment really is just complete nonesense.  You don't score goals against the best teams in Europe and be considered a top player in La Liga consistently by being an average player...

Henry Move Is Great News For Barça - Luque

Albert Luque believes that Thierry Henry will be a big success in the Spanish league after completing his transfer to FC Barcelona.

The Newcastle United forward is still a keen Blaugrana supporter and is excited by the prospect of incredible forward line that has been constructed at Camp Nou.

After rising through the youth ranks at Camp Nou, Luque understands how much the supporters appreciate attacking football and will be relishing the prospect of seeing Henry in action.

"It is a great move," the former Mallorca and Depor forward explained. "Alongside Cristiano Ronaldo, he was the best player in the Premiership."

Henry's move now sees competition for places at Barça become fierce, but the club have insisted that none of their star players will be leaving.

During his time at Deportivo La Coruña, Luque attracted the attention of Barça but the Galician club's asking price proved to be a stumbling block.

Luque has struggled with injuries and form since moving to Newcastle and was hopeful of a return to Spain last summer and in the winter transfer window.

The new Magpies' manager, Sam Allardyce, though has said that he wants to give Luque another chance to prove himself on Tyneside and has asked him to stay.

It would be mighty interesting if Sam did mnanage to squeeze some effort and performances out of Luque, would certainly show what a complete showr of shiite the last two were (we already knew that didn't we)!!

Even his quotes are pathetic. Is he good at anything?

Annoying you evidently.

I think that's more a by-product of his all-round uselessness than anything else. If he actually tried to annoy me--if it were his job, for example--he'd no doubt fail miserably and become my best mate.

It would (will) be mighty interesting if (when) Luque fails to perform and rarely gets a game for a third successive manager to hear what new excuses will be brought out to absolve him of blame this time under a popular manager. No doubt it will still be Souness/Roeder/Shearer/Lee Clark's fault for shattering the poor bloke's confidence beyond repair and training all ability out of him.
