I used to like Gavin Peacock. I know he was a bit average but seemed a decent bloke.

Wolves vs Newcastle United - 25/10/20 @16:30 - Live on Sky
Shearergol replied to 54's topic in Football
As long as we realise we're playing Wolves, not Macclesfield Town, and ensure we don't open up too much by attacking. Luckily Wolves don't do a high press, so this might be one of our easier games. 2-0 loss. -
They had so many bloody shots because we were sat back. Push up a bit and I guarantee there's less pressure on the defence. Not sure why our beloved manager and captain refuse to see that. We had SEVEN shots, it's hardly as if we were playing like Barca.

Have you got anything better to do? Come on man, get it done
-
VAR eventually gives penalty. Aguero scores.

Awful defending from city again
-
He's parked on Barrack Road, biding his time. Christ, hadn't even considered that Probably better than Bruce though.
-
Keegan? I stand corrected on this. I think he's very much the exception that proves the rule though... Zidane, Guardiola and Conte are others that quickly come to mind. Conte wasn't a great player. He was good, not much more. You could argue that Zidane and Guardiola aren't great managers.

Yeah joined for the chat and games section. Then realised the majority of you are actually quite welcoming in the football section. Went over to Newcastle. Met a good few posters. Love the forum like. Get carried away sometimes.

Are you willing to enter into a debate on here about him though, as I have a question. You constantly say that he isn't the man to progress the club or the players, but some might say that he's actually taken the club and majority of players backwards. Do you disagree with that? The reason you get called up on it is that there aren't exactly many Bruce supporters on here to have the conversation with, and it's interesting to know what some people are seeing in him that the majority can't?
-
Froggy, what's your affinity with Newcastle? I can't remember why you decided to join the board? Was it just to talk about Man United? Not a dig by the way, I'm genuinely interested given we don't get many "rival" fans on the board.
-
That can't be a thing?
-
Following him around? Like responding to his post with a question about the thread he's posting in? WTF man
-
Ahh, you feel confident enough to post in this thread now that it's not a direct question to you about Bruce. Still think he's doing ok? state of this post man honestly What? samptime29[/member] defending Bruce to the hilt last season but refuses to comment on him this. I'm just wondering why?
-
So they want rid of the Community shield and the League cup so they have enough room in their fixture list to play in the European super league?

I'm not convinced Fergie would be a good manager these days anyway. Right up there as one of the most stupid posts in the history of N-O! I thought you were fucking joking, yo! Well if you've said so it must be true. I bow down to you, my superior.
-
Probably because he formed that opinion based on analysis of his goals, as opposed to guestimation, nessy. It's even more of a valid question then. What were his brilliant 11 goals? Should be easy to answer after the analysis already done. Oh, really? Yep, really.

I'm not convinced Fergie would be a good manager these days anyway. This is some claim, surely worthy of elaboration? I think the game has changed so much since he was last managing. He was about work ethic, man management and a strong disciplinarian. None of those things are irrelevant these days. In fact I'd argue they're even more important in the modern game. I'm not saying he wouldn't be better than OGS btw. Just don't think he'd compete with the likes of Pep and Klopp.

Every Liverpool fan I know, other than my wife, is like that

Harsh on Rod, that! Not quite as bad as believing a random on here because he gets team news though, is it? Knowing someone who knows someone on the first team staff =/= having any sort of source with Ashley, his solicitors, or the now non-existent 'consortium'. Still, probably a step up from the parody Twitter account! Mauriss? Fuck off please Luke.
