The club don't have the money though, and Ashley won't put more of his own money in for transfers. It makes perfect sense that we can't actually afford this player. However, we shouldn't be going after players we can't afford. It's a complete waste of time. (especially for everyone checking this thread ever 13 minutes). Although in all fairness, how many privately owned clubs can afford any transfers without the backing of their owners. Not debating that. I just can't understand why people keep posting "why won't he just pay for him?" when Ashley has already made it clear that he doesn't intend to.

Milner's been in form for 2 years though. Ireland hasn't. I think he'll probably find form again at Villa though.

It's because t.at's exactly what's happened for the last 4 or 5 years here. I'm not worried that we don't sign him, I'm worried that the alternative is a championship player the same quality of Best (I imagine)

Possibly, but I doubt Perch is a very good left winger. Excellent point. N'Zogbia wants out?
-
Surely he'd be better than Perch at right back? Maradona said so.

I thought everyone in the premiership was lining up to buy Steven Taylor? Can't we flog him and use the cash on a decent player?
-
Our other target is Simon Walton.

Are Arsenal seriously interested too?

I'm in desperate need of a creative player in my fantasy league team. This HAS to happen.

It's been clear for days that he can leave. We just haven't matched their asking price.

Now I'll sleep easy.

Why would they do that? Not like Ashley/Hughton has been to the press moaning about them is it.

So you're judging his performance on his ability, rather than his actual performance? So if I'd have played, I wouldn't have been the worst player because it was expected that the other players would help me out? Actually, if I'd have played in the same team as Nolan, I wouldn't have been the worst player.
