  1. Guthrie Premiership quality as in he could probably get in the Hull team? He's been awful this season, yet people don't seem to care.
  2. Deluded. We have some players who are a bit better. Most of them were not playing against Scunthorpe and we all know the squad is thin. Still got more players than Scunthorpe
  3. Kinda like saying "we know we're shit, so deal with it". The results at the start of the season have glossed over the fact that the football is still shocking, and won't get better under Hughton (imo). Nothing wrong with expressing that opinion is there?
  4. So the 7 day rule doesn't apply for the Championship? Can't say I mind, never saw the reason behind it. I'm pretty sure that card was his 6th, and that the 5th ban had already been applied after the weekend. It does take into account the 7-day rule or whatever, hence he was going to be missing Doncaster anyway. O'Connor missed last night's game for Scunthorpe because he picked up his 5th booking at the weekend. The 7 day rule doesn't exist now.
  5. Williams (the left back) is constantly watched by Premiership scouts. If he stopped partying so much he might get somewhere.
  6. Did you know that the entire population of Scunthorpe could be seated in St James Park? And Dave, no I haven't asked them all, but you know full well what I mean.
  7. Who reacted? The chavs in the corner? Nobody in the home end heard it....
  8. Regardless, there weren't really that many chances. Awful first half, not much better the second.
  9. To be fair, Newcastle didn't actually have many chances at all. Murphy made TWO saves. According to the Beeb we had 20 shots, 11 of which were on target. Which were probably blocked near the edge of the area. I very much doubt that stat is correct. I remember Carroll having a couple of shots which went miles wide (he's shit by the way, worse than when he went to Preston) and Nolan had a header fantastically saved early on. Can't remember many other decent chances.

  11. I really don't know what to say, other than I predicted this. It's not really gonna help when I say that that's probably the worst Scunthorpe have played this season (bar Sheff Weds and Cardiff!) and the best player was missing. I think I'll avoid this thread now, and concentrate on the "sale" thread.
  12. Who off the forum is going? Might see if I can introduce myself....
  13. No it won't. The record attendance was before the seats were put in the away end.
  14. You'll not get in mate. It's where Scunny fans drink, and it's tiny. Just go to Old Farmhouse right near the ground. Sheff United fans were in there on Saturday. OK cheers mate. football ground guide reckons they'll let away fans in, obviously needs updating. They do let them in. I'm just saying you probably won't get to the bar! Most fans just walk it, but a taxi should only be a few quid. You might get a nice police escort anyway. If you fancy the Honest Lawyer, it's about 2 minutes from the station. Turn left out of the station, then right at the lights. You'll see it on the right hand side of the high street. cheers. Might pop into the Honest Lawyer when we get there for one and then head off to the Old Farmhouse. You'll get no bother wherever you go to be honest. All the scunny "hard men" are actually 13, so don't get into pubs.

  17. Just seen that O'Connor is missing tonight, which is a massive blow for Scunny. I'll change to a Newcastle win now

  19. What's your prediction Gol? In the unique position on this board of knowing about both teams. I watched both teams at the weekend, and if Newcastle play like they did in the first half, Scunthorpe will win. Scunthorpe always conceed goals from crosses, so depends if Taylor is playing at right wing or right back. Before the weekend I had this down as 1-2, but I honestly think Scunny will nick it by bossing the midfield.
  20. Last time Carroll played at Glanford Park he was sent off. He was shocking before he got sent off anyway, so it didn't make much difference.
