  1. I assume we'll push Ryan Taylor forward when we work out that we can supply nothing using the current midfield...
  2. It's probably already been answered, but the admin team there pay for it themselves. It's probably down to the likes of Peasepud and Craig being stupidly rich though Plus they're probably paying quite a lot less, at a guess. Not a lot less than you'd probably think tbh

  4. I apologise in advance if I am wrong but was the £300k not the loyalty bonus he wanted from Citeh? If may be classed as that, but City correctly in my eyes refused to pay it because as they said he chose to leave because a club had bid £5.5 million which triggered the release clause in his contract they did not at the time want to sell him. In the end it didn't effect City, Barton got the cash & NUFC ended up paying £5.8 million for player with release clause of £5.5million. Ah right. I don't think any football, even the best in the world justifies anything like the wages they get. I think most of the best players do tbf, it is the average s*** like Barton that is overpaid. How is anyone worth £100k a week? Its just obscene. It really isn't THAT much money in the scheme of things. You are trying to be funny right? Not really. Does anyone in the Premier League even make 10 million pounds per year? There are alot of people making alot more than that in this world, and most of them aren't busting their arse on a football pitch weekly and will be paid these salaries for more than 15 years. Aye it must be terrible to be "busting your arse" on a football pitch for up to £100k a week when there are soldiers, policemen, nurses and coastguards who do real life changing work for a fragment of that pay a year. But if there was only 100 really talented nurses in the world, and people paid to see them, they'd get paid shed loads too.
  5. I need to check with the Mrs now we've got a house and joint account
  6. How many people here making the point they want Barton sacked also think Keegan is always in the right? Be interesting to find out....

    Nile Ranger

Will he score once we get to 100 pages?
  8. Out of interest, if Keegan had gone to the press with the story about the South American agents, whilst he was still in the job, would he have been given the sack and a payout?
  9. Really? The moaning after Souness got the job was far worse, and he lasted a long time, considering. Eh? The moaning about Souness was the reason to blame for SBR's sacking? What?
  10. Am with you and Dave here. Count me in to, we just cannot compete with the oil money. Short term it would be great to have that investment. Long term is another problem. Just look at where it has gotten Chelsea probably the best team in europe and clear favourites to win the permiership? With the best strike partnership in the league?

    Jonas Gutierrez

If we manage to find a rule where we can play with 12 men, and we get someone else to do his shooting, crossing and passing, we're sorted.
  12. Brilliant, well constructed argument. It's almost as if HTL has allowed NE5 to log in as him, to get around the ban. Interesting.....
  13. Fans would just be waiting for him to walk out though, so it's not worth the risk to him.

    Jonas Gutierrez

I haven't seen today's game, but I've seen enough of Jonas to know that the people saying he wasn't interested will be right. Hope we get £5m for him in January.
  15. That's the exact reason we're in this league right now. Our midfield is fucking shit, and has been for years.
  16. With us relying on Guthrie and Jonas to provide stuff from wide, I predict that we'll create nothing from those areas. We HAVE to play Ryan Taylor on the right of midfield. Probably why Hughton has gone less with target man type strikers today... Yep, good point.
  17. Keegan claimed the rest of his NUFC contract (worth £8.5m) and his potential earnings over the next seven years at nearly £2.5m per year. Totalling about £25m, and based on loss of future earnings due to his reputation being ruined by NUFC's actions when he was employed by them. I don't see why it's despicable, he claimed what he (or more likely his lawyers) felt was the potential loss had this case tarnished his reputation as a top-level manager. You can't blame him for it, but Keegan, more than anyone, would know what him winning that amount would have done to this club. Now we're in the Championship, aye. The Ashley regime has overseen a ridiculous period of mismanagement including the Keegan fiasco and has resulted in the club being in a position where £25m could cripple it. I'm not sure why Keegan should have taken into account the fact that as a club we couldn't afford it. Also, Ashley could easily afford it personally. That's my whole issue with this. I just wish there was a way that Keegan could have taken Ashley to court personally. HE'S the one who should pay, not the person buying the club. Maybe because his contract was with Newcastle United, and not Ashley in-person? I know that. I'm just pointing out that the annoying thing for me in this is that Ashley won't actually care.

  20. Not without the managers permission. Fuck off mackem. Newcastle signed a player from Spain when the manager wanted a player from Portugal. He was signed before the manager was told. FACTAMUNDO.

Think this is something a lot of people are forgetting tbh. How are they forgetting it? There's NOTHING to indicate that his lawyers chose that amount. He'll have been told what the potential was, and gone ahead with it.
