  1. He's preparing the business plan to allow that return. As if NE5 and Freddie are two different people
  2. As soon as Ashley put this in the hands of the banks he was taking a sideways step from handing Shearer the job. It's a kop out of the highest order and I think we need to start looking at alternative choice managers, though for the life I me I don't know where to start. Joe Kinnear probably. Ashley and Llambias are deluding themselves if they think any other half-decent manager won't say exactly the same as Shearer regarding what's needed to rebuild. Then again, someone like Kinnear will probably say nothing of the sort. What makes you think Ashley wants to rebuild? Administration looks more likely to me. I still don't see the point of that. How does administration help Ashley? I think he means the likely way this is heading. Ashley doesn't want to rebuild he wants out, but nothing is happening and were more likely to head in to Admin than find a buyer under Ashley due to Ashley's incompetence. That still doesn't make sense though. We only owe money to Ashley, so administration would be pointless, surely?
  3. A 31.6% increase in wages? Surely that's not true.
  4. Giggs has just scored. Anyone know who wore the 99 shirt in the Falklands?
  5. so he wasn't a leader throughout his international career cos he didn't take a penalty ? and i would have both batty and southgate up before adams. Why? Batty had never taken a penalty before that miss in 1998 yet he still showed more leadership qualities in doing so than Adams, who was hiding in the centre circle at the time. Again it's back to 'lead by example' Maybe he just knew he was shit at penalties?
  6. It was £3.80 a pint for the League 1 play off final. £9 a pint at Chelsea flower show two weeks ago.
  7. I'm absoulutely certain we'll basically see 2 to 3 months of no progress whatsover, Ashley will still be the owner come the start of the season and JFK will be leading a under prepared, thread bare squad for the first game of the season away to Scunthrope. *Scunthorpe
  8. I hate Madrid, but even the ref had the final outcome in that match. Pretty certain that if it wasn't down to refs it would have been a Man United v Chelsea final again last night tbh....
  9. Scunthorpe have bid for him. Absolutely no chance of him going though.
  10. Of course they can do worse than him.
  11. You've clearly just made that up! Unless you've got a link of course?
  12. Barca shouldn't even be in the final, so I'm supporting Man United.
  13. I actually think signing him, along with Billy Sharp and Andy Keogh would be a great idea
  14. They'll never get £5m for a league one striker. Not a chance in hell!
  15. Woah there, hold your horses. That's clearly my job!
  16. Fryatt was shite in the championship last season. We've been watching Commons for ages, but I reckon he'll end up at Birmingham or Wigan.
  17. Youtube - Jermaine Beckford goal for Scunthorpe - gash footwork?!!?
  18. I feel for him. I wouldn't get out of bed for that tbh. If he's really on that then he's already on more than a lot of players in the championship.
  19. Why? I don't think he has the talent to compensate for his lack of technique. If our CM next season is Butt-Nolan I'd be very worried. he's got the talent and technique...hasn't got the legs or the players round him to make up for it. Sorry, my comment was meant to read 'he hasn't got the talent/technique to make up for his lack of fitness/mobility/speed. it would be interesting to see him in the championship with a team of movement around him. on those wages and with those questionmarks i'd rather not take the risk though. As a Scunthorpe United fan I'd personally be very happy for Newcastle to hang onto Butt. McCann and Togwell would run rings around him. As a Newcastle fan though, I'd be livid if he stayed and played.
  20. George Boyd too. Is Wilbraham(?) from MK Dons any good? He's ok, but he's an absolute cock.
  21. Based on what? Sheff Utd have played about 10 strikers ahead of him and i think only Beattie got near 20 goals. His record in the championship is 8 in 53. Based on having seen him play live in about 70 matches. Based on seeing the role he was given at Sheff United, after he was signed by a board even though the manager (Bryan Robson) said he didn't want him. He was played completely out of position by Robson, and eventually it lead to his downfall. Billy is severely lacking in confidence in his own game, so wouldn't be a good signing at the mo anyway. He wants to go out on loan for a season to prove himself again (although for some reason he still sees himself as a Sheff United player)
  22. I have a massive issue now, as "both" of my teams are in the same league
