Did they point him out, or was it a special feature about him? What does he even look like?

I'll answer the question NE5 asked me earlier now I'm back. Personally, I can't think of a good reason why Keegan would be so negative about the ambition of the club, unless it has something to do with the board not being as ambitious as he is. It's either that or we've been rejected by so many players now that he's worrying we can't bring anyone of any quality in. It worries me that Keegan has changed from a positive Keegan to a negative one in the space of a few weeks. Something has happened behind the scenes in my opinion. Disclaimer: For those who struggle to understand English, the above post does not mean I don't like Keegan. Thanks.

We were wrong to sell him but even more wrong to appoint the reason we had to sell him. However, that's been done to death now, and the thread isn't about that.
-
Him wanting 5th next season is anything but negative. I'll ask again then. Why do you think Keegan put such a negative slant on that?
-
He said he thinks we can finish 5th next season, let's see what he then says if we do it. That's a great thing for him to say. To put a negative slant on it is pointless. Can anyone justify why he's done that?
-
Sorry but I would see 5th any time in the next 3 years a being very positive and that is the target Keegan has set himself for next season. Hasn't he set himself that target for the next 3 years?
-
I don't see how the comments have put the club in a bad light, we'll go out next season to do our best in every competition and I don't think we'll lose a single possible incoming transfer because of what Keegan has said. If Spurs tell a player they're aiming to get a champions league spot, and Newcastle tell the same player we won't be getting that spot, who do you think the player will choose? Who would you choose?

Absolute bollocks. How I see it, Is the rest of that sentence in white or something? It says as much as .... absolute bollox, more imo. Often, When I post support for KK, on here, sheargol, has a go at me, therefore, I draw the obvious conclusion. I've only ever replied to two of your comments, and one of them was about teachers getting paid too much I'm not gonna get into an argument with you and ruin this important thread though. Just read what I've actually typed rather than listening to the voices in your head. nowt to argue about, your wrong, im right, end of. Ahh, you're a fucking WUM. At least I can now just add your posts to the ignore list.

centrepaddock82 takes it up the arse. Easy this game isn't it. Stick to the facts mate; I'm a big Keegan fan, always have been. I questioned him coming back but loved the fact that he brought the feel-good factor back. It's just a shame that his comments this week have kinda dampened that mood.

its tragic. i have half a mind to drive up to newcastle, punch keegan in the face and then show him why we can do it. Sam Allardyce, would have been content, to stay in the shadow of the top 4, play his mediocre brand of football, settle for mid table zzzzzzzzzzzzzz That is why he is not the type of manager I want at Newcastle. Keegan, is not happy in the shadow of the top4, That is why he is the type of manager I want at Newcastle. Repeating that line over and over again doesn't make it more right. I think it needs repeating to some of the thick heeds on here Remember why Keegan left the first time? Because the club was floated, and his share option wasnt what he thought it would be. I believe. That after, 1st, 3rd, 6th, 2nd, 2nd, ... you gonna complain about those league finishes? Ahh, I remember you're quite difficult I'm making the point that Keegan's ambition could always go the other way and be a bad thing for us. If he feels that the club cannot match his ambition, he'll walk. If supporting KK 100%, makes me difficult, then I agree. Jesus wept. I'm not saying don't support him (I certainly give him my backing) but you're claiming that he's a perfect manager because he won't settle for being outside the top, and I'm saying I worry because we might not be matching that ambition.
-
I doubt any player will read or listen to what Keegan has said and decide to go elsewhere for that reason. So you think Keegan will say one thing to the fans, and then when talking to the player he'll big the club up saying that we're aiming for the champions league?
-
I'm more than happy for him. However, I'm also more than happy that a useless footballer will be playing for someone else rather than us.

Allardyce left Bolton because they wouldn't give him the money to take them any further so that's bollocks. So you would prefer SA as toon manager? Read that 4 times now and still can't see where he said that.

Nice one, you just saved Jol the trouble of ever posting again. Good work. Delete his account now seeing as he has no need to post.

Hes just p!ssed off, cos he saw on monday what he is up against, and Mort hasnt given him enough money. This is the type of manager, I want at newcastle,----- one isnt happy, that we are way behind the likes of Chelsea. Didn't we offer £16 million for a player even though the season hasn't finished yet? If Keegan thought he was going to come in here and be given enough money to compete with Chelsea straight away then he's a bigger idiot than I ever imagined. You preferred Allardyce's patter? You certainly did. Over Keegan? You're imagining things mate, go and waste a few hours finding a quote to back that up. I was alarmed at the direction the club was taking, thought it was a risk, nothing more. You complained about Allardyce being full of shit, all Keegan has done is say it as he sees it. You want to make a paypal bet on the top 4 next season? I'll have the current 4, which ones do you want? Are you, and many other posters, missing the point here? We all know that the current top 4 will once again be top 4 next season, but for a manager of Newcastle United to come out and say that we'll not play Champions League football during his time here is completely the wrong message to send out to potential signings. Baggio isn't saying that Keegan should claim we will win the league. If anything, Keegan should say nothing at all, and I can't for the life of me see a reason for his outburst.

Bolton's been shit this season. I don't think Diouf has looked any worse than a good but disillusioned player showing up in a side he doesn't want to be in. He's been absolutely awful this season. One of the reasons why Bolton have been shit.

I would agree with that, as long as he does something about it other than moan to the press.

was he an idiot when he went 7 games unbeaten, He hadn't made them at the time so obviously not, he wasn't an idiot when we got bummed by the decent teams either before you start. keegan knows what he is doing, we went through all this in 1992, then, 1st, 3rd, 6th, 2nd 2nd. Means nowt though, does it? I reckon he'll do well here but he'll be bucking the trend of managers going back to old clubs if he does. Walter Smith's doing alright like. Is he? You knew what I meant though. Past achievements at a club guarentee very little 2nd time round. Who says going back should not be done ? I dont get the reasons for that statement. If you repeat this never go back idea enough times do you think it will start to sound true. Where is the evidence to back it up. As i see it going back to somewhere familiar should give a better chance of success than going somewhere that you have no experience of. but perhaps I am missing the point. Just saying dont go back is not enough on its own no matter how many times it is repeated. Who says going back should not be done Graham Taylor, Howard Kendall, Alan Ball, Hector Cuper, Claudio Ranieri, Mick Buxton etc etc etc etc

It means, ---what motivated Keegans speech on sky sports, He will not settle for being an also ran, never did as a player , never did here as a manager. He wont settle for being an also ran Now, at least not without a fight. For me, This is exactly the type of Man I want as Newcastle manager. Not happy with being an also ran. Unless he realises that he'll always be an also ran with us?

Still, at least we know now not to get excited about any "big-name" signings in summer.
