  1. Baggio reported that a week ago, and got shot down in flames.
  2. Fenerbahce announced the signing yesterday. No idea why we haven't yet.
  3. £2.75m we got (if it's true). Interestingly, it happened yesterday.

    Martins

He only missed 7 games, so it doesn't quite say it all.
  5. Think I'll enjoy it more without England in it to be honest. On a stag do in London for the final.
  6. Pair of them are poor for England, but you can count on one hand the number of good games Lampard has had for England. Can only play one of them if we want to be successful & Lampard should miss out IMO Absolute nonsense. He was England's player of the season 2 years on the trot and top scorer in the world cup qualifiers. Neither should play in this team, but Gerrard always gets away without getting stick.
  7. Yep, the entire deal actually hinged on those 2 goals.
  8. No offence, and sorry that I'm picking your post, but I fucking hate that attitude. (unless you're not English?) Perhaps he doesn't feel any affiliation of passion with a bunch of overpaid wankers who quite frankly don't really seem that bothered about playing for their country and representing us all? Like most Newcastle players for Newcastle over the last 4 years? I feel a sense of identity to Newcastle though, I certainly don't when it comes to the National team. Sorry if my attitude doesn't suit but I'm very apathetic when it comes to England. You don't have to apologise. I can see why you have that attitude, it's just that I hate the fact that English football fans don't support England. Just telling you I'm gutted we're not going this summer, I do support them but I'm really not arsed about this friendly at all. And this isn't just England but quite frankly the way football in general is now I can't say I'm as passionate about the game as I used to be.

  12. Mourinho and Lampard to Inter then. Bollocks, one of my favourite players going to my one of my least favourite clubs in football.
  13. Nope, not at all. Robson didn't want him (the board signed him to appease the fans) and he was played completely in the wrong position and style. Once Blackwell took over they played to his strengths. He'll be quality next season. Didn't realise we had so many Leeds fans on here by the way.
  14. He's not shite at all. How many times have you seen him play? Never is my guess.
  15. Leeds fan at work says he's ok, but they should cash in on him while they can. That would make me stay well clear. That Dickinson from Scunthorpe looked a decent player yesterday. Not good enough yet but maybe one for the future. He certainly had the physical attributes. Who?
  16. He scored loads for Scunny too, although they were dominating that league at the time. He'd do a job at championship level no worries, but not in the Prem. Very skillful, quick feet, works hard, but not great at holding the ball up. Scunthorpe tried to sign him at the end of last season, but because Leeds were controlled by the administrators at the time we couldn't. Was absolutely gutted (he was a hugely popular player at Scunny) but I can't see him making the step up at all.
  17. Exactly my thoughts. I wish our players were half as committed to the club as he is to Chelsea. And yes he didn't have to write the letter but he did and that speaks volumes. Remember Chelsea bought his committment for £130k pw. That's right. It's all black and white. Players are all just after the money. Or maybe he does love Chelsea anyway. Clearly you know him (as most people on this board seem to) so you tell me?
  18. Thanks for proving my point about people not liking England players
  19. Exactly, and I doubt finishing 5th is that different to finishing 10th in many players' eyes either. If it ain't the CL, 5th and 10th is all the same. You on a wind up?
  20. Exactly. He is a half decent centre back, not as good as the London papers say he is. On the other hand he is also a snotty, foul mouthed, arogant "piss artist" who collapsed emotionally 'cos he slipped and missed a penalty. On that basis he is also a great leader and role model. Crying on the pitch after missing the most important penalty of his career makes him a poor role model? Get a grip.
  21. Fair play to him tbh. Some of the hate he gets on here is far too over the top.
  22. Go on then, explain. Are you just saying that anything south of Newcastle is classed as South? York is the cut off point. Used to be Northallerton but I like York so I moved it. Actually, geographically you're about right. Get a map of the country, find the most northern point of England. Write down the approximate latitude. Do the same for the most southern point of England. Use this to divide the country into 3 equal sections, and you'll find the dividing line between the north and the midlands runs between York and Leeds. Humorously enough, Manchester is closer to Wales than it is to the north. Where on a compass is the midlands? Leeds and Scunthorpe are both North. I'm not being a fucking southerner for anyone! What about Cheshire then or am I classed as a Southern fairy?! Historical north/south divide: http://www.sasi.group.shef.ac.uk/maps/nsdivide/index.html

  24. I reckon if Derby County had Man United's players, they'd be a major force too. The sky is blue.
