  1. Ha, was no need to type that out then! Waste of a few minutes of my life.
  2. What makes you say that? His piece in the Observer Sport Monthly today goes on about how he likes his manager to be a disciplinarian and that a manager should be like a school teacher. 'You need leadership from your manager, players have to be controlled, if they're not it's a disaster. Look at Newcastle.' He obviously hasn't got a fucking clue about what really happens up here. Hmmm. A very odd thing for someone to say. I would like to know what was exactly said compared to what made it in print. He might have made a specific reference to Joey Barton (for example) in the actual interview but the journalist decided to omit the specific information; hence making Bentley look a bit of a twat (trying to cause a rift between club and player to scupper possible transfer?) I dont know. Its just seems odd for even a footballer to come out with (and we all know they aint the brightest sparks at the best of times) Here is this part of the article. 'With all of that going on (he'd been on about money, spare time, being famous etc)you need strong leadership from your manager to keep you focused. My Gaffer at Blackburn (Mark Hughes) gives me that. He won't try to be your friend, having a laugh and a joke. He doesn't want to sit down for a coffee. He and Mr Capello are my favourite kind of manager: disciplined. You give a player and inch and they'll take a mile, that's just the way young rich footballers are. We need managers to rein us in. It's a bit like when you're at school - if you have a strickt teacher you respect them; if you have a teacher that is always larking about you lark about yourself. We need to be kept on a leash otherwise we lose our focus. Anything different and the team stops winning. I've seen it happen. You look at the clubs that are struggling in the Premier League and it's always for those same reasons, players have to controlled, if they're not it's a disaster, look at Newcastle.' He then spouts some more shite about how we have the best players so we should win the World Cup etc.

  4. Bentley certainly isn't a fan of Kevin Keegan!
  5. Nicky Butt in TF - 'I'm a Manchester lad and I was at Man United for 16 years from 13. That's a long time so obviously I still have friends there, I know the manager very well but that said, yeah, I feel like a Mag'
  6. In terms of % of sold available seats we are only 10th out of the 20 sides in the Premier League with a percentage of 95.7. In recent times we have been right up there at the top with 98 or 99 percent until the last two years. http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/3093/86574771je1.jpg

Bollocks. Had 12 injuries in November and December for a start. really? like who? i remember having 15 players out all at once at one point under roeder http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_premier_league/clubs/16/newcastle_united_injuries.html
  8. I dunno, I rate him as a player but his injury record is abysmal. He's ten years older than Milner, but has only played about five more games in his entire career. Milner has actually played considerably more games in his career than Cacapa. I heard that rumour at the start of the season but thought it was innaccurate. He's probably played about the same amount of games now but I think Cacapa had played about 20 more before this season started. Still shows how injury-prone Cacapa is though. According to the bbc Cacapa has 170 career appearances and Milner 231.

  10. Out for the rest of the season.
  11. 4-5-1 would be a beter way to to nick a resuly. Depends upon whether gaining a point would be viewed as a 'good' result. Did you see their game at the weekend? Portsmouth parked the bus and played for a point and got beat. We don't have good enough players to play 4-5-1 and park the bus and get something out of the game.
  12. Agree that he should have gone out on loan, he hasn't even been picking up 5 minutes here and there, Saturday was his first Premier League football this season.
  13. I like Bullard but he'll be 30 in October and I'd rather be looking at someone younger.
  14. There was an interview on Newcastle World with Jonny Godsmark a few weeks ago after he had just secured his pro deal, he was pretty happy as you would expect!

  16. Mark Cook, Mark Bertram, Alex Francis and Alex Patterson released, or to be released at the end of the season. 12 months academy extensions for Darren Lough, Callum Morris and James Marwood. Pro deals for Jonny Godsmark, Frank Wiafe Danquah and Mark Doninger.
  17. Well done with his goal and general performance, but I think that sort thing is utterly pointless and pathetic. Not much more than a "show". Anything that potentially improves morale is worthwhile IMO. Just think its kind of pointless "for the cameras" sort of stuff. We've always been good at mocking other teams for it. Not really, we did it under Roeder when we finished 7th. Didn't hear many complaints then.
  18. They're also examples of us playing two of the worst teams in the league. Tbf, we've only ever won this season when Geremi's been in the team. (IIRC) In the league yes, Geremi has started every game we have won.
  19. Fucking get in! Need to go and turn the heating on though, freezing.
  20. Don't you dare mark him on effort. Smith is exactly the same, he tries hard but is crap. Keegan could sign me, I'd play my heart out, but I'd be crap and out of my depth. Don't you see that skill and ability is more important than guts and effort? To be a good player, you need both of them however, but ability comes first. Barton is not out of his depth, he is just void of confidence. He was one of the best goalscoring midfielders in the league the last couple of seasons. You complaring yourself to Barton sums your statement up I havent checked, but how many league goals has Barton scored in the last 2 seasons? 6 last season, 6 the season before.
