We rarely sign players when we have competition for their signature. I think only Ben Arfa and Ba have been signed in recent times when there were other teams in for them. That makes you wonder who exactly we can compete with?

Knee jerk reaction seems to be signing any one who isn't the first target. Need another 6 months to decide on another target to put all their focus and failure in to.

It's what we get for having a fairly passive approach to transfers. How is our approach passive? The minute someone else joins the battle for a players signature we lose.
