I actually think that's a very good thing. By all means moan on here, but during the game support the team including the manager. I don't think that means that the match day crowd aren't unhappy with him and this season though, certainly not the people who sit around me anyway. It is. What it does show is a willingness to persevere with the current setup, reasonably confident that things will improve. I think most people, with common sense, would agree that sacking the current encumbent is not the answer to our woes. I think that would change fairly sharpish if we slipped into the relegation zone mind. At this point it would be hugely symbolic. I disagree. I think most of the anger would be directed towards Mr Ashley. Yeah there would certainly be a lot of that. I've never lost sight of the fact the summer was a f***ing disgrace, even though I think Pardew should be doing a hell of a lot better. The message it sent out was arguably even more damaging than the physical deficiencies. A lot of people have. I'm not going to try to claim that Pardew's doing even remotely well. However, my stance hasn't changed since before these three less than winnable fixtures. The season is a write off, but I don't believe the majority of the blame lies at Pardew's feet. We will be fine, though. It'll be interesting to see the approach to next summer should we stay up, ie if it's any different. Being tight has its benefits but not when the outcome is a fall from grace like this. Pardew needs to be telling them that this just isn't good enough, whoever the manager is. As johnnypd posted elsewhere, there seems little foresight whatsoever from above. They think they know best all the time despite admitting to knowing f*** all about football. I've no doubt that whatever moves we make this month will be to the detriment of any summer plans. Can you expand on that? I'm guessing he means the board will use the excuse that they spent money in January so there's none for the summer.

I like him and he's still a young guy despite seemingly having been around for years however I'd put a left footed left back on the list for the summer. If Santon wants to play on the left he needs to be developing a left foot. So frustrating seeing him bomb forward and then not be able to do any thing with the ball.

Hopefully him and Ben Arfa will give us a similar threat that Baines and Pienaar do for Everton. Better than the no threat we currently have.

If Pardew managed Everton they'd probably line up: Howard Baines Distin Jagielka Neville Heitinga Pienaar Jelavic Osman Naismith Fellaini

He's basically my last hope that we might turn things around.

People can say our midfield is functioning fine but people are overlooking what Cabaye does defensively. I'm sure there was a stat which said he made the most tackles in our team last year. Sure he was in the top 5 for tackles made in the whole PL last year. He was top. 10. Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur) – 96 Tackles 9. Marouane Fellaini (Everton) – 99 Tackles 8. Alex Song (Arsenal) – 100 Tackles 7. Youssuf Mulumbu (West Bromwich Albion) – 101 Tackles 6. Patrice Evra (Manchester United) – 104 Tackles 5. Maynor Figueroa (Wigan Athletic) – 107 Tackles 4. Scott Parker (Tottenham Hotspur) – 107 Tackles 3. Joe Allen (Swansea City) – 110 Tackles 2. Moussa Dembélé (Fulham) – 113 Tackles 1. Yohan Cabaye (Newcastle United) – 116 Tackles http://www.barriesview.com/2012/05/premier-league-201112-most-frequent-tacklers

It depends. If Cabaye is back he might make the difference. Our recent run of form has been the same period he's been injured. That's my last straw of hope any way. We lost 2 games before he got injured, he's the glue that holds this whole team together..... i don't think people realise how important he is even now. Without him we can't defend, control, battle, create and to some extent score. The 2 we lost before his injury were to Chelsea and Man Utd. Since he's been injured we've become addicted to losing.

Away game so we won't win and if we get a replay Pardew has an excuse for the next 3 league games.
-
He must really love the Yo
-
Meh. At least there's no points to be lost. Maybe it will be a welcome break to lose in an unimportant game.
-
Also well done to Everton for doing the impossible and coming from behind to win a game of football.
-
It's about the same. This game was basically the 0-0 against Pompey where they played keep ball for the last 10 minutes and our players didn't give a shit.
-
Agreed. That's a shocking post.
-
People used to say we were too good to go down when we did get relegated. The bottom line is if the manager is an idiot and the team are showing no fight it doesn't matter how good the team looks on paper.
-
He was never quick but he looks painfully slow now. Looks de-motivated to me as well.
-
As if. He'll be managing us when we're in the Championship.
-
There's no adjectives strong enough to describe how shit he is.
-
Show us the money some one...any one.
-
I hope he signed on the dotted before watching that.
-
At the end of the day, if we stay up - it's all cushty to Ashley. I get the feeling that any real success is nothing more than a bonus. Our team has no fight and is going down with a whimper yet his job still doesn't seem in danger at all.
-
Just don't know what Pardew has on Ashley. Any other manager at any other club would be sacked for results like this.
-
I don't think we can afford to take that risk
