Xisco joins Deportivo on loan until the end of the season

Good-hearted but s*** players can score a few goals was my point - I don't see what quoting Xisco's goal record has to do with the fact that he looked poor when he played and has been seemingly written off. This is the same as Luque where tv fans who watch people play in foreign leagues clamour for people to be played for no good reason other than they scored a couple of good goals on YouTube - as I said without being privy to training and working with the player on a daily basis I don't see how you can say he more right to play than anyone else. Tv fans? Oh dear. Let me guess you are at every home game rain or shine? Am I being chastised for watching foreign leagues? Xisco could have played in Slovakia's second division, my point is that with 4 games, not even 4 FULL games, under his belt to sell him would be stupid, he has not had a chance. You cannot score sitting on the bench. No - I'm not chastising you for watching foreign leagues - I'm just saying that some of us see NUFC as higher on a list of football priorities than others and I don't see the desperation which seems to accompany this kind of topic - if he isn't going to make it then as Otter said its in the best interest of everyone if he is sold. This isn't btw about the Wise setup - I mentioned Luque as another example and I'd also say the Gonzales loan was bad for a number of reasons but from what I saw of him I think he could be a good signing. I've had the argument on instant judgements before and I do believe in giving people chances but I also think that instinct based on years of watching football can't be discounted either and I don't think the lad will make it. -

Carroll to me looks like the usual promising as a youngster/not good enough that we've seen too many times. Xisco was absolute garbage in the games he played and given that nobody is privy to training I don't get the hysterical calls for his inclusion. As for his 9 goals in Spain - how many did Sibierski score the other year? -
People need to get away from the idea that just because we got lucky with one find which looks like a diamond that Wise has a list of similar gems just awaiting signature. All of our managers/systems as far back as I can remember have had mixed results from transfers and this one is no different. The key is the amount of money available which means that you aren't relying on everyone working out and every Bassong isn't offset by a Xisco. I mean the latter in terms of working out so far - if this report is right we can't afford to "waste" half of the budget on someone who doesn't make a difference this season.

I think it will mirror the summer - no plan - just a series of lurches from one target to another with no coherent agenda leaving us short. Apart from Feb 2nd when all bids received are welcome.
-
He wasn't in goal last April you thick cunt.
-
You think he was making that up? Honest answer - yes I do.
-
It also shows that Given hasn't fallen for his "taking the club forward" line - and thats without waiting to be stunned by the window signings.
-
Nope - long term injury was re-occurence of injury he was carrying when signed.
-
Almost balanced by "peanuts" received. Oh, not this again. You know what I was going to reply with, so I'll save myself having to type it out. His net spend if fucking crap man.
-
I hear Gonzalez is the f***ing business. Yeah because nacho can help being injured? Fucking clueless. He can't help it but the people who signed him knowing he was injured could.

A phrase I think will be repeated more than once in the next month when the final tally on Feb 2nd is counted.
-
I would say Gonzales should be counted and the dig is at Wise. The effort of making money. The man has proved he is clueless about football and this will seem like a classic - we've got a decent backup so we get a few million for a 33 yr old - the squad won't be too worse off and the balance sheet looks even better. Of course signals to other players and the world at large that we don't give a fuck about even pretending to want the best any more won't matter will they? Ashley doesn't want rid of Given does he? He doesn't see players as people - he sees them as assets - remember the phrase "residual value"?

If six blokes beat me up then I'd expect police involvement. If it was one bloke and I just had minor cuts and bruises I wouldn't bother reporting it - in fact its happened to me. By the sounds of it, it was three people involved in this incident so surely police involvement is appropriate? Yep 3 onto one is fair enough for the police. (I really need to read the details before I comment )
-
Do you honestly think every minor fight between blokes where nobody gets hurt is worthy of legal involvement? If someone assaults someone else then they should be punished. Isn't this obvious? Depends on the circumstances. If I accidentally bump into someone and they take offence and punch me and I punch them back and my punch is "better" should I be prosecuted or do you suggest that nobody ever defends themselves? Clearly not suggesting that, but then what if you punched the guy ten times causing death, even though he arguably instigated the 'fracas'? There's a line where defence is no longer defence in any case. Of course but that would come as a consequence of the injuries which would show I'd went over the top. What I'm talking about here is dispute between two blokes which results in nothing serious on either side - I think legal involvement is a waste of time, effort and money. As I said above if Gerrard allegedly used a glass then that takes it into the realms of something I'm happy for the police to handle. On the other hand if he was with a few mates who didn't jump in and it had just been a brief exchange without the glass then I'd just say move on and forget about it. Minor fights are part of human life - I'm not saying that;s right and I don't like to see people get injured but its not something I think is worth getting over-dramatic about.

Do you honestly think every minor fight between blokes where nobody gets hurt is worthy of legal involvement? if you got glassed, lost a tooth and needed stitches you wouldnt press charges? I'd read about the tooth but not the glass - if that's true then in this case I'll change my view and say charges are appropriate.

The only difference was he had the trial for the Dabo incident in his diary and I think was on bail. I don't know enough to know whether that affects sentencing. I'll be astonished if Gerrard is jailed no matter how much I'd like to see it for personal amusement. Having said that a bloke being punched and losing a tooth is for me a ridiculous thing to be jailed for. I think assault should go beyond that (probably resulting in unconciousness as a starting point) before jail is involved.

What gives you the right to deduce that he isn't? He might not be a 'genuine' Newcastle fan, but there must be something seriously wrong with the man if he decided to get into the football business if he had no interest in it. He won't say who he supported and according to his statement his first "memory" as a fan was the hand of god at the world cup when he was 23. I don't trust people who don't support clubs. christ. I'm guessing Aston Villa are devastated they've got a bloke in charge who had no interest in football before June 2007. I mentioned that I'd prefer Lerner's honesty than Ashley's bullshit about Mexico. I'd also say you're on dangerous ground if you start comparing Ashley and Lerner - he has done exactly what Ashley should have done.
