One of the big plus points also with having video review bans, is that it would take pressure off refs. Starting to give refs sanctions for missing something would be extremely counter productive. Just such a win-win-win situation for all involved... retarded a solid, clear system hasn't already been in place for years.

^ That's what UEFA are hiding behind for sure. How about they start with the obvious ones and go from there? Seriously, it isn't hard. So many players should be charged with bringing the game into disrepute. I don't understand why FIFA/UEFA (just like goal line technology) can't see that it's in their best interest long term to clamp down, because it's killing the game as a spectacle and killing the game's credibility. The biggest problem though is no one is willing to look at themselves, every one passes the buck by saying "ohh but they do this, and those guys do that". Last night was an utter joke and we're going to see it again and again.
  3. Nani? Rooney? Yes, now Barca will be totally justified in diving about in the final.
  4. Even a broken clock etc etc... Although I also agree with what he said earlier about the common denominator in these games that turn into farces seems to be the same man.
  5. Personally I enjoy watching teams that are capable of mixing things up. Short passing, crosses, long balls... When Barca aren't getting things their way they seem to just start passing for the sake of passing. I've always respected ManU's (well Ferguson's) approach in that respect.
  6. It doesn't mean they are pro-Madrid. Just pointing out what the others did isn't a justifiable comeback. As you said both teams were petty and ridiculous and they are getting called out for it.
  7. Wasn't tbf. He deflected some of the ball and didn't go in with excessive force. It's those challenges on the continent you always see the player in Alves' position moan about, when the ball's there to be won.
  8. Hey, I suffered through the dark ages of 94 and 95!
  9. I don't see how anyone could like him. I support NUFC, man. I have allowed myself this luxury.
  10. With the 2 goals tonight, even if he's only average in the final and win that could do it.
  11. That's what makes him so great to watch too. He rarely gets dragged down by those around him.
  12. FYP Yeap, felt if he was prominent in his team's run in to winning the CL he'd warrant that extra move up on the scale of greatness. He has delivered tonight.
  13. That usually seems to be the case. He stays away from the pettiness and just tries to be awesome (and often manages to be).
  14. They probably don't give a shit. But it's hardly the point.
  15. I'd be embarrassed to call either of these teams my own. Certainly not start bragging about this win as some sort of achievement.
  16. Exactly... this is what modern football is about (see last Summer's World Cup): Sit through ages of boring and horrible wankerish crap just to see 1 minute of something good. Pathetic.
  17. It's allowed to be crap. That happens in any game. The behaviour is inexcusable though.
  18. Wish UEFA would grow a pair of balls. Fucking tragic that this is the kind of 'football' these two teams are serving up. Have some respect for yourself at least if not the game. Bunch of pathetic wankers.
  19. Always the same. Having to sit through the constant pettiness just in hope of some brief moments of genius.

For celebrities or the like who have an army of followers that's okay, but it sounds really weird when regular folk do it.
  21. Aye, some players are natural health freaks. Like Zidane, he seems thinner now than when he was playing even.
  22. That was some textbook stuff, with Rooney holding up just enough to attract another guy, Giggs making the late run, Hernandez run to create space and take away defenders...
  23. He'll be seeing red everywhere... must be that time of the month.
