So i take it Ashley invited him down south to tell him how good his joke was? just possible they may have wanted to meet to talk over the summer's transfer moves.
-
It's one of them. i'm losing the rumour here.....is it KK stuttering or the club in general from what you've heard ?
-
do you mean judge them on when they do what they say they will do ie buy nobody in January ? I agree that you shouldn't ALWAYS judge people simply on what they say, there are a number of examples over the years ..... yet boro and woodgate admitted we outbid spurs on fee and terms. so they say walked into that didn't I ?

NE5 have you worked out the difference between what people say and do. yes mort said that but the only player we know they actually went for (woodgate) doesn't really fit into that does it ? sometimes people put far too much into interviews, disecting each sentence and making out they are hard and fast rules.

might be 02.22 where you are kidda....not in the place we are all bothered about
-
big physically. didn't think he was a regular starter and don't think he' cut it in the prem
-
probably already posted but mancini rumoured yo be going to stamford bridge
-
i herad a rumour a while back that if hull got promoted they'd be interested in shola and this was part of the reason for sholas reluctance to go to stoke permanently.(plus due to his performances for them i think the potters went rather cool on the idea)
-
at the same time as a bid for gomes has been turned down off spurs. were spurs in the market for 2 keepers was was the ITK not really ITK ?
-
the size of hull and the surrounding area makes me think this could take off.
-
Hull in the prem ? they might re-open the tower nightclub specially.
-
june 1st isn't it ?
-
aye.......next season the way some are going on

apart from press reports which are often wrong or downright lies, what makes you so sure we are after him in the first place ? Hence the word potentially. Do you need a definition for that? i read it as potentially signing for spurs. if he did why should we be pissed off if we aren't even sure we were in for him in the first place.

as far as i'm aware neither NUFC or gala have made official any bid from us.
-
right so we are supposed to be pissed off about a player we aren't even officially linked with. everyone slags off the press for telling lies then believes everything they write.
-
i've took gomez as top scorer(23) and to finish in the top 3(7.6). he's in the easiest group, easier side of the draw and playing for the tournament favourites. opportunities to lay (fnarr fnarr) later.

I can't say I agree with that - I'm of the opinion that this is an Ashley drive. This is no more than speculation, but I believe Denis Wise's "Newcastle Reserves & Development Squad" has two very specific goals. Firstly, nobly, the hope is to find the new Cesc Fabregas - a player that costs next to nothing, spends a year or two developing before establishing himself in the first team. However, some quotes have led me to believe that the second hope is to find the next Nicholas Anelka - a player who costs next to nothing and is shortly afterward sold for a 20m profit. That's a fantastic return in anybody's language but to me, if persued as a policy, smacks of profiteering and even becoming a "selling club"... Am I being alarmist? Personally, I like the new setup, but only if it works properly and it must be said the jury is still out on that one too... yes and no. unfortunatly today players can force moves so you sell for what you can...if you can get in the right manager and players you may get a squad high enough up that players don't want to leave.

Fuchs34 (why that name ?).......have any other clubs been mentioned wanting to sign Turan ?
-
Bad English ? Better than most on here. Thanks for the info. I know you are in Germany but have you looked at any Turkish press/websites and have we been mantioned in relation to Turan or is it British newspaper talk ?

According to some bloke on a Spurs forum. L'Equipe. http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2008/20080522_145447_coupet-vers-tottenham_Dev.html He would be a distinct upgrade on Robinson. alison lapper would be an upgrade on fat boy robinson

Why not??? if we think within our realm, we will never improve. Football is about the world and not about our city alone, wonder why the likes of Pool, Man U and even Spurs and believe it or not Leeds are more popular than us. It upsets me when i go to places like China and Singapore and they are not very familiar with the Newcastle name. They only know it as Shearer's club who is basically not very good. Anyway, its a chain reaction, if we are really no good and stay as over-rans, our standing be it Scotland or France will dwindle and that is negative as far as i am concerned. In a way, its a measurement of our success and progress as a football team. weird as wherever i've been in europe newcastle is at least as popular as spurs, more than everton and leeds don't even get on the radar. you are on the wind up. I am talking about Asia. As for France, our name is dwindling.....yes Spurs and Newcastle are just as well known perhaps but most will think Spurs as a better club with bigger potential. Like in France, people start to think St Entienne as a club who is going in the right direction while PSG a bigger name, but going southwards. Most rising stars in France will want to go play for growing clubs and not one like us which is going south in their views unless paid loads. no argument there but after allardyce and hopefully with backing we will be seen as a club going in the right direction. i still say you are on the wind up.
