It's pretty basic, the majority of people support where they're from, they don't HAVE to but the majority do, even if it's just the nearest major club but then it comes as little surprise that when people don't do that they don't have a random approach as to who to support, they go for the successful ones. Edit FWIW I know some great people who support "other clubs" than where they're from for some great reasons, some have really interesting g personal reasons for doing it and no issue with that. However I grew up with lots of Liverpool and Leeds (early mid 70s) fans who's support was purely "I want the success and bragging that goes with that"
  2. But we did see Bruno and the medical staff say he's OK to carry on and that's what a manager will go on.
  3. He would if he brings him off and it's something that could have been ran off with both the player and medical staff saying it
  4. Of course it's hindsight, both the player and the medical staff thought he could play on, no break, bit of a twist. If we'd taken him off straight away, get beat and he's running around doing a warm down at the end then Eddie gets slaughtered.
  5. Just whizzing through the recording to try and see if the Joelinton bit in their team talk was there but found a funny little bit with Willock. 17:30 on the clock, Bruno's down (forgot it was that early and he played on for about half an hour), anyway Willock is getting instructions off Eddie, takes a drink bottle, goes for a big drink, sprays it all over the place cos he's pointing it the wrong way.
  6. I thought there was something like an £8mill release clause ?

    When sponsored by Carling ?
  8. However we seem to be doing better against those teams when playing away and they have to come out a bit more. However Palace in the two games so far have been pretty good at getting round our press and for all we should have won both games they were close and couldn't argue with draws.
  9. There are differing severities to it, you can run it off to a point. I done my ligaments years ago and the rest of my playing career had issues with going over like that, sometimes I could play on , others I couldn't. That and the flat feet (diagnosed aged 50) are 2 of the 3 reasons why I never made it professionally.
  10. I've been to two league games and one League Cup game at Selhurst........ and never saw Crystal Palace. Charlton once and Wimbledon Twice.
  11. Was there not a blatant Fulham hand ball in the run up to it ?
  12. Or how proud Bruno is that his dad is such a cult hero.
  13. How is he getting hounded out ? Because a few people on here, myself included, point out a weakness in his game and not just him and its a weakness that quite possibly our management team sees aswell.
  14. Nah, Jacob Murphy wins this week's award. Going down seemingly with cramp about 4mins after coming on, then being unable to pick the ball up as he kept kicking it out of his own hands.

I mean we we weren't behind and the position he came on in seemed deeper than a support striker.
  16. Has Murphys little bit of shithousery at the end had a mention ?

Says a lot about what Eddie thinks about him that he's prepared to bring him on, when not chasing a game, and play him almost advanced central midfield and give him license to drift.

No he isn't. He looks gangly but is great at carrying the ball and moving it. Crouch was static when he had the ball, got it, gave it and tried to get on the end of it. He's gangly, there the similarity ends.

At times Carlisle (3-1 defeat, Waddle scored) was like a Street full of Andy Capp style fight, cloud of dust with arms and legs sticking out. Bolton, Keegans 2nd away game was kicking off all over inside and out Man City Bank Holiday Monday likewise, aided by really bad policing having us queue next to them at basically adjacent turnstiles. It seemed like it really was more often than not back then away from home.
