kenny sansom and stuart pearce ? I was going to say you missed alan kennedy, can't believe he only got 2 england caps.
  2. only saw the second half and he played very central and quite defensive midfield (similar to us really, france seemingly don't believe in getting central midfielders within 40yds of the oppositions goal), he done nowt great, nowt bad.
  3. tbf I'd be quite happy with january shopping if it was better value (like it seemed like last january) but I still see that even as a one off.
  4. not taking anything for tonights matches pre game. looking at the in-game movements.
  5. Guess they would argue based on the January dudes. Again this is connected to last summer's inactivity. Sure, I don't even know how much weight I give to it. I do think it deserves some credit, but obviously it doesn't entirely make up for the two quiet summers. Did the club/Lambsarse/Pardew admit last summer's frugality was a mistake and that January would go someway to rectifying that? Pretty sure I recall some bumph of that nature. Now they're saying that this summer's frugality is down to the splash out in January. Cake and eat it merchants. then they'll say debuchy, gouffran and haidara were in response to last summer. mapou and sissoko were this summer early.
  6. most will want to see it proven before being accused of turning a blind eye to it. Much is already proven, the free advertising for example. i was meaning the possibly illegal siphoning off from the tills. Illegal? Do you mean to suggest it would be fine by you if the merchandising/retail revenue no longer went to the club as long as it was f***ing legal? you know i didn't mean that, in the same way that you know it's worse if it's also illegal.

tiote raises my heart rate when he has the ball on the edge of our box. Me too, it's properly nerve-wracking. Yeah it's quite the rush - I still think there's a good player there somewhere with Tiote Same, but if that good player doesn't show himself this season I'll lose any faith in him. i'm not sure it's entirely up to him. I think he's being asked to do to much and also our style does not help. If he's bad this season then agree we should just sell, although I would rather get rid of Pardew and see what would happen if pressure was off him a bit. i think he's been sussed. everyone knows to pressure him when in possession as his possession play is poor.

very much doubt robson would've bought him tbh. whether he could've made something else out of him had he been an inherited player, who knows ? Why? bother at other clubs and gives the ball away too much.
  12. an exact switch about would be good. many in well before the game, protest right up until the exact second of kick, then everyone behind the team. What would the content of the protest be? Just that Ashley should sell? let those that want to protest settle that. I just don't think it's productive when it overshadows the match itself.

  14. If you had a ST you got home cup matches free. That's probably why that many turned up tbf Nah, I had a ST for that season and didn't get a free ticket. The only people who got them were bond holders and those who got moved during the stadium expansion for a few years. Sorry it was if you signed up to the 3 year deal iirc Ahh, makes sense. First i've heard of that from the first season of the newly developed gallowgate. 10year bond to guarantee your ticket. £500 paid over three years and you got 3 years home cup tickets free and your name under your seat.

Left backs are in the side foremost to defend and Domi wasn't very good at it. Plus his attitude knocks points off for me , certainly rather have Bez in the trenches beside me than Domi, who we all know what unforgivable thing that he did. I didn't think that Bez was all that good defensively either tbh, the only proper defender we had in the premier under Keegan was probably Peacock. Barton, Bersford and Albert were more about being good on the ball, although Venison was probably better in both respects even though he got bombed out by Keegan for indiscipline before Barton arrived. steve howey was very good till the injuries kicked in.
  18. whats needed is more fact to back up the conjecture, accounts, figures etc, then the press will get involved, not only that but once they are handed a story they'll dig for any other skeletons in the closet, financially speaking.
  19. it does happen. I'm sure joey bartons "free" transfer to QPR cost them 2mill. This is brand new information. don't misunderstand it, it means qpr shelled out to the player, his agent etc, not that we received a fee and when a player is a free in the manner barton was, or a desirable player has let his contract run down (ie ballack style) they will expect higher payments due to there being no transfer fee.

  21. There WAS another buyer though, and the reason is that Liverpool had a recent record of success - that will always attract people who want a PL football club. NUFC is supposedly in a better state financially than they were, but because the club is seen as a comedy show, nobody is rushing to buy it but they will when it suits their purpose... That's right so comparing Liverpool's situation to ours favourably doesn't make sense then, because of their success they are a worldwide brand, a point made earlier in this thread. That's why if we are going to compare ourselves to another club, it would be closer to Everton. Maybe closer, but Everton will never have NUFC's gate potential...they are seen as the second club in Liverpool, 3rd if you accept Bill Shankly's famous quote..! Problem is that with Ashley in charge, the club's attraction to potential buyers is going to decline because eventually, there WILL be a boycott...perhaps not an organised one, but many will just stop going. thing is , gate potential is becoming less and less of a clubs total revenue.
  22. aye and nah. nobody goes on like he's a pauper but that the club doesn't have the resources at present as some others. unless you want him to bankroll us similar in style to citeh and chelsea, which most seem to think is killing the game.
  23. Nope, there'll be a contract just it'll be a small fee. It's fine as long as it's not seen as a way of shifting profits for tax planning purposes. Although even then, that's no problem form Amazon and Starbucks. which it would be surely ? I can't see it being for that. It's just a way for SD to hold our stock and sell NUFC merchandise so that they make most of the profit. it wouldn't be for that, but would be a product of it, wouldn't it ? not too up to date with my fraud laws.

  25. could that not be classed as fraud ? Is it not similar to the catering? no idea, how much do we get from outsourcing that ? Is it a legitimate ammount as opposed to a "nominal fee" ?
