No, but I can't get worked up over a few daft tweets. Barton doing what he has will have little or no impact on goings on at the club. It's obvious he's not the only player that's thoroughly fucked off with the management so morale wont soar or nosedive on the back of what Joey posts. All it does is garner a few extra column inches.

Well, as always, it has made the papers, local and national. If I were on the verge of signing, I'd be mad not to have second thoughts whether his utterances actually reflected reality or not. That's the crux of this for me. If it was just Barton going off on one of his own accord then we could quite easily write this off as Joey being Joey but there's patently something very wrong going on behind the scenes.

What I don't understand is how we are willing to piss away money on Defoe rather than getting Zoggy in to play off the main Striker. I struggle to believe we're willing to spend that amount of money on any player, let alone Defoe. Propaganda from the club.

I reckon it's bollocks. 72 hours after Enrique tweets about our lack of ambition in the transfer market and habit of selling our star players stories come out saying that we've got £10 million set aside for Jermaine Defoe if we fail to sign Erdinc and, even more unlikely, we've turned down not one but two cash bids for a player. The club's PR machine is grinding into life.
