  1. I couldn't give a fuck who they've signed if I'm honest. We've played them twice, we're not competing with them for anything so it doesn't bother me.
  2. Rumours is we didn't pay much at all up front. If he plays then we pay.
  3. What goes around comes around! Hope he has to stay at City and sit on the bench. Serves him right! Given owed us nothing. He could and probably should have moved years earlier, he didn't. I don't begrudge him the move and take no pleasure in seeing him sit on the bench as he's good enough to play in the top flight.
  4. Why has he not got gloves in the pic? Darius Vassel is so shite UEFA deemed it would be unfair if he wore them.
  5. He faked injury on several occasions, starting way back when Allardyce arrived and tried to play him as a winger. Under Kinnear he only turned up for training when he fancied it and had a habit of suddenly claiming he was injured. He wasn't adverse to Lazarus like recoveries either. The Shearer thing was the last and most public example of Martins claiming he was injured. As I've said he's comparable with Owen in my eyes. Both picked up huge amount of cash, both cared little about the club or fans while putting in subpar performances. The fact he was a bit of a character shouldn't detract from the fact he's not only a horrific footballer but a mercenary too. just to clear up the bollocks once and for all - http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6108134.ece A scan on Martins’s groin has revealed that “there is something not right in there,” Shearer said, and although the forward is rated increasingly unlikely to be fit for Sunday’s match away to Tottenham Hotspur, the club are hoping that he will make himself available for the five games that follow. “We have a few different scenarios with Oba,” Shearer said. “One, an operation; two, an injection; three, rest; and four, play through the pain barrier. We know what we want him to do, it is just a case of how much pain that will cause him.” suppose you think he faked the groin scan, too. as we know, he decided to play through the pain barrier in the remaining games, so he deserves some credit for that, not libellous shite about "faking" an injury. I can only tell you what I know to be true and that is that he faked injury several times before in a similar fashion. I'm still dubious as to the extent of the above one if not the legitimacy and I know people at the club were too. Please remember this is a man who lied about being the victim of drive by shooting for little or no apparent reason.
  6. It was claimed he owed Chris Nathaniel (I think) a lot of money but Oba won the case.
  7. The same pace he never ever used, and take apart his goal-scoring record from the 1st season it's quite bad. his injury record while at NUFC was shocking. You can question his attitude as many of a time I've seen him not ever chase or close down balls and generally look like he would rather be in Tiger Tiger than on a football pitch. He went AWOL v Watford, feigned injury on multiple occasions and turned up to training went he felt like it. All this while being paid 80k a week, not defendable imo. 1. good point on the injuries. that's another mark against him. 2. whatever. he used his pace plenty. 3. we could pick out many bad moments from players currently with the side. 4. i don't want him back. but he's a great low-risk flier for a club like birmingham. they need a spark, and he should be motivated to show well on this loan. i'd say the odds are 1 in 3 he does. 1. Especially when many were of a dubious nature. 2. No he didn't, that's why he rarely scored or even found himself one on one. 3. Moot point. 4. Depends how much he costs them in wages and whether Birmingham's nightlife is as good as ours.
  8. It's not who wanted to leave, it's who played and acted like they didn't want to be there. Martins was one of many.

  10. As Neesy said he didn't have the brain to read the game and make the runs your Bellamy's etc. do. You had to put the ball at his feet before he could start motoring. As for his injury against Stoke: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/football_league/article6082465.ece
  11. I also need to point out that the last time I avoided posting details of something in case of libel (Carroll being arrested for a fight with his ex-lass) I was called a liar, so it's a bit rich to start talking about it now.
  12. The worst being no one believed he was on 90k. I remember receiving dogs abuse for saying he was. I don't see why. He was signed when we were the height of paying silly sums for s**** players, I'd have thought it was common knowledge. He's comparable with Owen for me in terms of contempt shown to the club towards the end. People forget he feigned injury or illness under Allardyce, Kinnear and Shearer when he didn't fancy it. Christ, under JFK he was rarely at the training ground even when he declared himself fit. I'm not surprised to see his career has went down the pan. Libelous. I was under the impression libel had to be untrue?

  14. He didn't realise it anywhere near enough. Someone with his pace should've really been able to get behind defenders and cause trouble but his lack of a brain meant he couldn't. The few times he did his finishing was so shambolic the goalkeeper could've gave the lad an open goal and he'd have walloped it into row M. That's why we had to make do with him striking one in from 30 yards every few months.
  15. Maybe Oba's comedy first touch, his complete inability to finish and his David Copperfield disappearing act will be endearing when he's not taking £90,000 a week from my club.
  16. Pardew says we're close to securing a current NUFC player on a new deal. The press seem to think it's Barton.
  17. He's done okay so far. No more, no less.
  18. Will he though? It cost us a couple of goals last season that I remember pretty clearly, so he doesn't appear to be learning quickly enough for my liking. He was poor the backend of last season but then his ankle was hanging by a thread as we all know. He's much more capable at this level than I thought he would be after watching him at Blackburn so I'm willing to give the lad a chance.
  19. Twitter. Peter Morrison - football agent based in Manchester from James Grant Sports Management. Although, they don't represent Stephen Ireland: http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/james-grant-sports-management/details/berater_641.html The editor of Sky Sports News has also said there's big NUFC transfer news on the way.
  20. I think Danny Simpson has got a taste for Mackem baiting. His response to the Bent transfer request: "Interesting news lol"
  21. Absolutely nothing to do with the Songs of the EDL album she just loaded onto her iPod. Nothing at all.
  22. Employers: Prison Service I don't think it counts as employment when you're being kept at Her Majesty's Pleasure, like.
