He could learn a lot from Gerrard on Sunday about how to control and dictate a game, something he has rarely done for us.

im not convinced. Whose is better? i remind you we finished 5th with that line up last season We never once had that line up out last season. These are the players Pardew used to finish 5th last season, in order of appearances: Krul 38 Jonas 37 Coloccini 35 Simpson 35 Cabaye 34 Ba 32 Tiote 24 RTaylor 23 Williamson 21 Santon 19 Obertan 18 Best 16 Ben Arfa 16 Guthrie 13 Cisse 13 Perch 13 Shola 8 Also Vuckic, Sammy, Ferguson, Lovenkrands, Barton, Smith, Marveaux, Gosling making no more than 2 starts apiece, and he even had Alan Smith on the pitch at one point (home v Fulham). And these are the players that AVB and Di Matteo finished below us with: Petr Čech Branislav Ivanović Ashley Cole David Luiz Michael Essien Oriol Romeu Ramires Frank Lampard Fernando Torres Juan Mata Didier Drogba Mikel John Obi Florent Malouda Raul Meireles José Bosingwa Romelu Lukaku Paulo Ferreira Salomon Kalou Daniel Sturridge Gary Cahill John Terry Ryan Bertrand We had absolutely no business being anywhere near teams like this, and with the total lack of meaningful transfer activity the same is true this season. Its not been said in this thread often enough recently that Pardew has shown himself to be a f***ing good manager. We have had charlatans and bluffers before and they have all been exposed and f***ed off within 2 years. Jonas is an undroppable man, I have no idea why.

Hardly cheap, he's one of our top earners. Would like to see him in his correct position

I'd take 4-4-2 long ball, for a shitty 1-0 win and we get dicked all game and I wouldn't criticize a single player. We could have Barca's team for a day and we'd still get spanked.

it's a fair comparisson to be honest, good in parts, seemingly weak in others that does better than many think it should. (i'd even say, player for player the current team is a better back 4) Bobbys team was more balanced, but player for player I think this team is better. Bobby just had a great balance of pace, technique and experience. This team is a bit all over the shop.

Ethi was one player out guessing the starting 11. -

People also have to realise there is a difference between effective long ball and aimless punts. -
Deserves to be under pressure if we lose today. I know people don't like to admit that, I can live with results not going our way when we play our best team, best system, but playing a system that doesn't work for 2 months straight and scraping wins against Norwich and Spurs being our only results this season is shocking for a top 6 team.

It's not like we took them apart last season playing a 4-3-3. -
That line up today man. He has so much talent at his disposal and is wasting it.

Fuck off Pardew -
Someone's facebook status today "We meant what we said, we meant what you said, Steven Taylor, we wish you were dead"

In all honesty I'm still waiting for Pardew to play this passing style he was on about. I think most managers come out with that shite. It's the football equivalent of having sex, you wanna give it to your girl for hours and hours going through the karma sutra you full intend on doing it until its game time, then you revert back to what you know, 3 pumps then its all over.
-
It's obvious the Barcelona style that they play doesn't work.
-
QPR play a worse freekick routine than us

Stop with these 4-3-3's it's not going to happen. 2-2 -
We should forum bet on a team specifically to get them relegated.
-
West Ham look good value this weekend.
-
I don't know much about Anzhi apart from they have Samba, Carlos and Eto'o. Could be worth a bet.

I've recently read Amarillos Slims autobiography, he says that betting on the favourite is most peoples problem and the only money to be made is on underdogs. I think the champions league this week has proved that point. Imagine having a Shalke, Dortmund and Ajax treble, even at DNB. I'm going to stick 20 quid in my account and only bet on good underdog bets, anyone else fancy doing this challenge?
