I should probably try and start writing again. God I'm so fucking lazy.

I love the examples you gave: N'Zogbia - granted, a real find. How often does that happen though, unless you're Arsene Wenger? Parker - a £10m buy for Chelsea, hardly came out of nowhere. Chopra - shite, peddled. Milner - poor first season, loaned. You've convinced me.
-
Correct. Not sure if this is correct, really. When was the last time this happened? Albert Luque? Plus the amount of people in this thread alone who have judged him on 2 games is astonishing.

Jesus wept! Seriously some of you need to have a word with yourselves.

Amazing how many people backing Bellamy by saying he loved us seem to forget this quote from when we bid for Rooney. .................... when confronted with the possibility of non-guaranteed selection for the 1st team - ie. following Kluivert's arrival, with a Kluivert/Bellamy 1st choice strikepairing on the horizon - didn't Shearer similarly question his own future at the club. Yet Shearer's "love for the club" hasn't been similarly compromised in many a supporter's eyes. Perhaps it's a case "hear no evil, see no evil" where certain individuals are concerned. From nufc.com's Match Reports. Alan Shearer told the Chronicle: "I think it would be great if we signed Rooney. "He will be a fantastic asset and a great investment for this football club. "It would be a great coup for the city and for the club if we can attract him here. "If he is thinking about going abroad to Real Madrid or whatever then he can do that in four or five years time. He is only 18 and he is still effectively learning his trade. "He will only be 22 or 23 in four years time so he's got plenty of time on his side and I think it would be a great step for him." "Obviously it's all up in the air at the moment. Yes he would put my place under threat. It would put everyone under threat. So what? "If he can come in and do well, then great. It's always been the rules of football if someone comes in and does well, you support him and say well done. "We are all in it for this football club and if Rooney comes in and improves us, then we are all for it and I am 100% behind that. "If we can get him it would be brilliant." The comments i refer to, when Shearer in a decidely more eloquent and media friendly manner left a distinct impression that he'd indeed look after his own interests in the event of SBR no longer guaranteeing him regular 1st team football, took place earlier in that particular transfer window ie. around the time of the Kluivert transfer. Somebody will find them although i'm certain they won't be found on dot.cock. "If the manager said to me I wasn't going to be a regular, I'd have to consider things. I want to play as much football as I can in my last season. I think there's a good year left in my legs. I was pleased with passing 20 goals again last season and I hope I do the same, if not better this year."

I hate any justification of anyone being given the job that uses the term 'give him a chance' as if we're a fucking charity who any old bugger can have a go at managing.

The debate comes down to one simple issue: whether or not you think he's had enough time on the field (fit and under a manager who is not dragging every single one of them down) for his ability and worth to NUFC to be judged. 90 minutes, spread across 6 games. Some think that's enough to judge a player. Some don't. And we will never agree.
-
Neither have you. I've seen him play every time he has, and from what i've seen, he's deserved **** all. Still, maybe we SHOULD play him all the time. After all, he was great fro Depor........ I've seen him play every time he has as well. Since Glenn Roeder took over, that's 90 minutes total, made up of substitute appearances - often at the back end of games which are either already lost or we've been hanging on and not attacking. I refuse to judge a player on that. We didn't lose that many under Roeder? I refuse to accept that he deserves to be starting based on his (admittedly limited) performances. If he can't show some individual talent in the time he's had, he's not worth it. I personally want rid. I realise that i am Officially Wrong about that, and that he should be given 400 consecutive games, and NEVER judged until he's good, but fuck it, thats how i feel. I feel angery when a supposedly great player turns out to be a waster, but shit happens. Until people stop twisting words and making stuff up, this debate is not worth having anymore tbh.

He deserves a chance full stop.

Just being where he was at the right time is something to say for him. Two in two - yes I know, I know, it was a testimonial and it was the mackems but let's face it, Celtic weren't exactly non-competitive and they were both good goals. Chopra never, ever looks like getting on the end of anything. Yeah he runs round and generally is a nuisance when hassling, but that's all he does.
-
No, it's true. Every time he comes on I hope he suddenly shows why he cost £10m and has all those Spain caps, but once again he looked lost, disinterested and unable to do anything with the ball in build-up. I can't possibly agree with that. He played a couple of cracking crossfield balls and scored a good goal. I keep hearing 'disinterested' but I just don't buy it.

This is the thing that's even worse about the whole situation. The Smoggies will soon usurp us I reckon, It'll be no surprise if they're above us this time next year. There's no way Gibson will make an utter farce out of the task like Shepherd has.

No, no, no, no, no. No.

We weren't just beaten either. We were battered - and we had our 4 first choice midfielders out. Shay could have been forgiven for letting a few fly past him and putting us out of our misery.

Against Wigan reserves. Wigan. Reserves. Boumsong, Solano, Emre, Bowyer, Parker, Shearer, Luque - these are his players or players he has chosen to keep - and at huge expense. Exactly, there is no excuse, Wigan had rejects from the SPL playing for them FFS! Emerson bastard Thome started for crying out loud.

It amuses me the way the performances against Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have all been used as pro-Souness points. That'll be P3 W0 D0 L3 F0 A8 then will it? Kudos.

I don't know about you, but I went home and ripped off my "Super Graham Souness" t-shirt off and threw it straigt in the bin! It's still there those, so I'll wipe the banana peel of it on Sunday if we draw against villa. I tore my 'King Souness' poster off the wall. The laser removal on the "I want Souey's Babies" tattoo on my arse is still ****ing sore. You fancy dan! I just used a lighter! I'm skint now like. If we have more than three shots against Villa, I'm gonna have to put it back on myself.

They should make it so it's like if you're ill in an exam they give you a few extra marks. Tott up all our injuries and at the end of the season, add the points that we definitely, definitely would have had if we'd had all our "door openers" on, you know like we did against Everton and Wigan reserves.
