  1. Nothing like Keegan imo. Pardew knew the devil he was dancing with when he was hoping for Newcastle defeats for weeks so that he could take Chris Hughton's job on condition that he lowered costs. No sympathy. One thing Pardew has done is completely vindicated Keegan's decision to walk. Nobody with an ounce of self respect would dream of being the puppet that Pardew is. He's truly pathetic.
  2. Can't wait for Tuesday when he tells us, again, how grateful we should be to Mike.
  3. I now seriously believe, he was brought in just as someone to point blame at other than the board. Yep. "Where's the signings Joe Kinnear?" Honestly man.
  4. Anyone intelligent enough to make Teasy's ignore list is alright by me.
  5. Absolutely detest deadline day. What time does it finish this time?
  6. Based on what? After he came back from Bolton, he spent another season and a half as a bit part player at Chelsea. We should have laid down £15-20m that summer and got him. Sturridge was on obscene wages at Chelsea though. Absolutely no chance we'd pay close to what he's now on at Liverpool. I agree but that's because we're run by a detestable penny pinching cunt.
  7. Based on what? After he came back from Bolton, he spent another season and a half as a bit part player at Chelsea. We should have laid down £15-20m that summer and got him. They were always going to give him 2-3 years to develop (see Lukaku). If Chelsea were willing to sell then someone would have bought him back then anyway. They were always going to give him time to develop before selling him for about half what he's actually worth? Seems a strange policy to have decided on.
  8. I had a fucking temper tantrum the first time Krul launched a free kick from the halfway line.

  10. How much did Sturridge cost Liverpool in the end? I know Chelsea wanted something like £17m at the time, but it seems like pocket money now. £12m. "We shop solely in France because English players are far too expensive"
  11. I've been saying Moyes is a disastrous choice since he got the job, fuck all to do with today. Would have been difficult to get anybody within a million miles of Ferguson tbf, but a bloke who got Everton to a few mid-table finishes was never the one. Would've been tons more sense to go after someone who has had copious amounts of money to spend, League titles won and Champion's League trophies too, to follow on from a man who attained the success Taggart had. In my mind they had to get Mourinho. Totally agree.

Would have been difficult to get anybody within a million miles of Ferguson tbf, but a bloke who got Everton to a few mid-table finishes was never the one. It'll be interesting to watch it unfold, and fwiw Moyes was Ferguson's choice, Ferguson must have seen something. Ferguson will be manager again by the end of the season.
  13. We'll rue not going for Ince in the same way not buying Sturridge after we sold Carroll was fucking brainless.

  15. Moyes embarrassingly far out of his depth. Brilliant.

Moyes bought his own players so the comparison is utterly pointless.
  17. The new strip launch is the most successful in three years? We've got some of the thickest fans in football.

While we're on the subject Everything he said there was perfectly fine, but the bolded bit just didn't need saying http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-keep-demba-ba-as-75million-1198658 Everyone thought this until Pardew felt the urge to tell us he was still available. Please tell me that you don't actually believe that Ba's agents didn't know about this clause. Obviously not. You're missing the point anyway so you're wasting your time. Perhaps you would care to explain your point then? My point is that Pardew 'revealing' the existence of the clause has absolutely no bearing on whether Ba would be sold or not. Any interested buyer would know about the clause. You and I may not have known about it, but that is irrelevant. Pardew going on and on about it is going to increase the chances of an interested buyer though isn't it? If he's in the press saying that Ba's available on the cheap, Club A from Country X who previously hadn't thought twice about Demba Ba and hadn't looked into any clauses are suddenly alerted to the fact that he's available for hugely less then his true value. Your argument that "everyone knew anyway" assumes that every football manager in the world is aware of every single player in the world's contract situation at any time, which I suspect is not the case. We only got Cabaye because we snuck in round the back and exploited a clause - we probably wouldn't have if Lille's boss had been in L'equipe every day for six months shouting "French international and title winner, four million paaahnd!" It's like any form of advertising. I've got my house up for sale and that's public knowledge for anyone who looks into it. But there's likely to be more people looking into it if I'm giving fucking press conferences every day telling everyone that I'm selling it for half the true value.
  19. Sales for Fulham suggest its starting... I'm surprised at how much the demand seems to have dipped TBH, I didn't realise the match-going fans were being affected as much. You didn't think the match going fans were being affected by the team being absolutely shit? What world do you live in?

Advertising players via the press rather than explicitly (which the buyer could easily publicize) makes it much easier for the dim to believe that the club were somehow powerless in selling someone. They did it with Carroll, Harry Redknapp even commented on how it amused him that they were claiming woe is me when they'd been trying to peddle him all month.
