We should litter the city with 'em. Paint it on the road outside the fucking stadium if we have to. I think a large scale t-shirt campaign would be a good thing, if someone were willing and able to sell them cheap enough. Which company is going to be wanting its potential customers wearing a "Your brand is shit" t-shirt?
-
Just a pity he owns large stakes in JJB and JD.
-
Someone get on the phone to whoever put the Shearer shirt up on the Angel and send him an XXXXXL "Sports Direct is fucking shit" t-shirt.
-
He'll turn in his grave at this, there's no way he would have agreed to be party to it.
-
Except this has been planned for a while now. Times reporter defending the editor who broke the embargo alluded to the fact that they'd know before today that the change was going to happen. Tony Evans is very big on the links of football clubs to the local community, doesn't surprise me that he's getting his two-penneth in, look forward to The Game podcast coverage of this.

Hope you've bought him some sports merchandise at low low prices. New away strip... but got it at JJB. He owns a large percentage of that too.

Absolutely not. That's one of my biggest problems with this; it'll never go back now, same with the signs up everywhere. And the only thing that pisses me off too However Bottom line is we have a very good system now in place at the club, particularly in player recruitment. If this money is channelled in the right way added to the extra revenue success brings we really could see ourselves as major players in the league again and not just half a season wonders I understand the history, I really do, but at the end of the day it's about how competitive we are on the pitch! What would you take SJP name and finish 8-14 every year Different name top 6 most years I'm not saying it will be the defining feature, but it will definately help! We are not getting any f***ing money. How difficult is this to understand? And what if he does sell the naming rights on to someone else, what then ? It's been two years already. Where are these big wigs with their bags of cash? FFS, sorry frustrating but i've said this twice already, we weren't sitting 3rd in the league getting this much coverage, he is exploiting our good start for all its worth. So will he be changing it back if we lose the next three and slip down the table?

Why would he when his shitty company is getting free worldwide advertising? Wake up. John Hall said this was the plan all along in the original buyout discussions.

because they'd get their brand name in place where all the sports direct shit is and in all the media reportage from SJP it would be called by their branded name and if they're a global brand then considering the exposure of the premier league world wide thats valuable So why haven't they already done it since it's supposedly been up for grabs for two years? Are these investors really that thick that they need Ashley to coat the stadium in red and blue to realise that *SHOCK* you can advertise at a football ground?
-
I think you'd have to be incredibly naive to believe they have any interest whatsoever in allowing someone else to invest in it. The club is being run towards a goal of essentially becoming Sports Direct FC. Even if they did, what company in their right mind would want their brand advertised by the disgusting mess St James' has become?
-
Compete ffs. My emotional investment in NUFC doesn't start and stop at the fucking transfer window. Happily see another relegation if it got rid of this shithead and we stopped becoming Sports Direct FC.

Pig sick of hearing "maybe they were wrong about Ashley" and I was before today's shambles. Funny how they never say Man Utd fans should be apologizing to the Glazers - they wouldn't fucking dare. -
Bet you it will. Chelsea are openly looking for a sponsor for Stamford Bridge, Spurs when they redevelop White Hart Lane, I don't like it one bit but the only surprising thing to me is its taken this long considering how clubs are always looking to increase revenue and with Financial Fair Play coming quickly this sort of thing will be seen as an easy fix Arsenal did it when the new stadium opened didn't the with The Emirates, and City already done it too right? Do you not see the difference? It's a bit like the difference between naming a newborn baby, and adopting a ten year old boy called Fred and changing his name to Alison.
-
It's deluded. We haven't got the history and prestige Liverpool and Man Utd have. Let's moan about tradition when we've got a few European cups and 19 league titles under our belt. We haven't got the history so let's strip the club of what history it does have?
-
If I was Pardew, I'd be absolutely foaming about this.
-
Yep. Jeff Stelling said last time that it was staying St James' Park as far as his show was concerned but that won't remain across the board.
-
Why don't Man Utd and Liverpool rename their ground for a bit of cash? Fancy renaming a stand after Sir Alex Ferguson, fucking mugs, should have whacked First Allied Corporation on the top of it. Clubs are about more than money, or cheap tracksuit bottoms.
-
Can quite easily see him changing the badge and the club colours to go with his shitty brand, and I wonder if the FA have the power to veto a name change. Hyperbole? Don't put anything past this scum.
-
Why the fuck would you do something like that? A heart attack can't come fast enough for this fucker. UK's obesity problem? Not enough of a fucking problem yet if you ask me. He's vermin.
-
The chances of real historic stadia like Old Trafford or Anfield being renamed are absolutely nil. Because the people who run those clubs don't have a compulsion to treat their supporters like shit for the sheer hell of it.
