  1. Looked a stonewaller on first viewing, not so much after a replay, Evra doesn't divert his path into the man, think Halsey's called that right.

How many NUFC starts has he had? 4 maybe? 2 either side of a broken leg? Fuck's sake.
  3. If there's one criticism I have of Krul, it's his reluctance to get the ball out to the full backs quickly... though to be fair I'm sure that's due in part to who the full backs are. TBF if I were him I'd be reluctant at hoying it out to anyone that isn't Colo and arguably Taylor at the back. Indeed. Pardew should be telling Obertan/HBA/Marveaux and Gutierrez, when possible obviously, to offer themselves in the full back position as soon as Krul claims the ball.

    Sunderland...

Wouldn't care but it was 79 minutes. They're that desperate to claim some sort of bizarre superiority, they're even abandoning all concept of rounding up.

I know Pardew's said he'll always play centrally but I think he's got to start thinking about, as someone suggested, at least easing him in down the left hand side, maybe start him on the right, see how he does and let him and Jonas switch over during the game. For a player still looking to get used to the English game, coming back from a serious injury and probably feeling the need to prove himself again, getting the ball in more crowded areas isn't doing him any favours. The one time he picked the ball up on Saturday on the wing, he blitzed past the full back and got a shot away. He wants to beat players but needs to learn to walk before he can run.

Hmm not sure about that, the last thing to do when you're playing Stoke is try and compete with them physically up front, might be better to get the ball down and have players running at them. Ba and Best will be no match if you try and put them in a physical battle with whatever trolls they've got at centre half.
  8. Our defensive form in the cup compared to the league shows just how reliant we are in certain positions on certain players and that even one key absence will hit us really hard.
  9. Drenthe sent off for Everton, was hoping it was straight red but two yellows so will still play against us. Annoying.
