Need to get some pace into the side for the 2nd half. Jonas has to be a must. -

Tonight so far smacks of complacency on our part by the players. Not good enough. Still got plenty of time to get back into it, but Hughton is gonna have to change it. -

For all the Mick Lowes haters - Real Radio also do match commentary. Need to be local to listen to that though. I don't quite get the Lowes hate. Spot on bloke for me. -

reply no19. he's a long time toon fan. can anybody remember the match, think it was in the 80s when Norman wisdom was running round the pitch at half time? Man United at home in 87 I think (on my 14th birthday) We won 2-1, with Goddard getting the winner. Was a full house, and 10000 fans rumoured to be locked out. I remember seeing folk in the trees in Leazes park, as well as on top of the Uni dorms, next to the East Stand. Brian Blessed is also a massive Newcastle fan. He met Jackie Milburn on a family holiday up here as a kid and it did it for him.

Sheff United 3 Ipswich 3 Keane's men unable to defend yet again

Peterbrough 0 Plymouth 2 Looks like a first win of the season for Sturrock Ipswich 3-1 up at Sheff United now

Results going for us so far tonight. Need to take full advantage of it tomorrow if things stay like this.

I think the kid has done great for us since he first came in. He's improving game by game as his confidence grows. It's hard to know what to do with him now that we also have Harewood available. I'm gonna go with Carroll and Ranger again for Weds again though. Keep faith with him.

To be honest, I thought Roeder had done well enough to be given a shot at the job full time, with that run at the end of 2005/06 (I think it was) He did take us on a good UEFA Cup run, but that 2nd season was blighted by rotten luck with injuries too. However looking back, it probably wasn't the right appointment given the damage done by Souness - which took a while to unfold fully.
-
Leaving the choice up to the fans is an equally dangerous road. Since when has NUFC listened to it's fans, anyway?
-
The Richard Dinnis situation (as mentioned above) is something we have to be very careful of. The players may want Hughton in charge, but it shouldn't be left up to them as it's a dangerous path to head down. I'd still have a punt on Shearer once the takeover hopefully goes through. One thing he can do, is unite all of the fans behind the club once more - perhaps even the bizarre pro-Ashley lot.
