Bollocks to a 4-5-1 here - got to go 4-4-2 with being at home and considering the opposition! 4-5-1 allows Nolan to disappear during a game. -

I'm happy enough with that, though I'd have Guthrie in for Nolan. Geremi should provide some decent service from wide (fingers crossed) -
I was there that day. Got my mate's ticket as he was on hol in Greece. Was gutted his missed it.

Desperately need some pace in the side - Lovenkrands has to start upfront with Carroll. The biggest problem though is the wide areas - Ryan Taylor isn't quick and Barton is no left-sided midfielder either. Square pegs in round holes again. We could do with a couple of loan signings in too. Won't hold my breath though - Ashley won't OK any deals. -
Okay, it appears everyone has quickly forgotten how inept this guy is. We'll give it another couple of weeks. After we've all had a chanceto watch his useless performances then we'll see where your affection for hm is at then. I have no doubt whatsoever what is going to happen now he is back and straight into the team though. I watched enough of this guy last season to know that as long as he is in the team the losses will pile up. We shall see. I've never said that he'd be my first name on the team sheet. For me, he is back up and he probably accepts that. Doesn't mean he should be made a scapegoat for tonight's 'performance' when 4 other midfielders hardly covered themselves in glory either.

this thread wouldn't even be happening if we'd won tonight but the idiots on here have to find a scapegoat and seeing that Butt's came in and we've lost its all his fault!!! Don't get me wrong i wouldn't have him in the team if i was picking it but the reaction to Butt on here is just mental and completely OTT. This.

Poor performance and hopefully a reality check. This side's shortcomings were there in blazing glory tonight - very little creativity, no pace, no Plan B and a manager more concerned with not losing a game, than trying to win it. Had he been brave in the first place, it may have well been different. If you instill fear in the players (of going to places like Blackpool) - is it any wonder this goes and happens? As well as Hughton has done so far - he's not the man for the job fulltime, regardless of what the senior players say. Older fans will remember a certain Richard Dinnis and what happened there.....
