I've heard plenty about 'Supermac' - like how once the alcohilism that took over his life and he was left penniless came back to the only place that was stupid enough to have him. Spending all his time in the working men's clubs, mooching free ales based on the past and sleeping in the living room of any f***er stupid enough to take him in. A bit like what he's doing on Century Radio right now really. And if you really blinkered enough think that Given had no alternative than to leave his beloved club in the way he did then you're clearly the one showing ignorance. Tell you what - the bitterness and spite that is present within those couple of paragraphs (and your previous post) shines through like a beacon. Well done. I bet Christmas is a real blast in your house.

Well, he wasn't a servant he was an employee, and a very well paid one as well, spat his dummy out when Sir Bob was manager and threw in a transfer request and gave us short shrift when the Man City money was offered his way when we were in deep s***, using the upopular managment as the scapegoat for his greed and cowardliness. Ironic to see who you've got as your avatar - another one who 'loves the club and the city' but pissed off as fast as they could when a bigger pay check was offered thier way. Ha-Ha about Supermac. If you knew anything about why he left, it's because NUFC at that time wanted the money from Arsenal and like Given - he was left with little alternative but to leave. Someone like Merlin will be able to fill in the gaps for you there if you like. Still, I expect it won't register with you. Ignorance is bliss - especially in your case.

The hatred is maybe too strong but I don't see why we should support him now, he's gone and I don't care if he wins nothing at Man City. He doesn't deserve success over any other player or anything like that. I never said anything about supporting him now? The hatred that I was taking issue with is childish in the extreme.

Have said it before, but for a man who is said to be desperate to get shot of the club, Ashley isn't half hanging onto it for dear life. He'll be hoping we can get promoted on the cheap, then he can whack the asking price back up to £250-300million.

Irony is - he moved quicker for that goal than he did the first 6 months of the year for us. Wanker.

I'm bemused at the hatred for Given. He was a great servant to the club and never gave less than 100%. He decided to go because of the way the club was being ran at the time and that's the issue. People's anger should be directed at the owner and his cohorts for the way they have ****ed us all over.

The beginning of the end if this goes through.
