  1. Does that really matter though? Even though there is no way of proving it rightly or wrongly, what difference does it actually make? If people enjoy it, and if it is still developing because it has been held back for a century what's the problem? People will turn out to watch AFC Wimbledon, they're not in the league, and if they were representing the country people would watch it and support them. (For example) As I said before I really don't think it's relevant, it just pleases some people to be able to place it somewhere. No, I agree. It will be interesting to see where women's football is in 20 years time.
  2. I can't agree. Going by the few matches I saw at the lasses World Cup, I don't think they'd even get in the league.
  3. I think they should all get a pay rise apart from the goalkeepers who should be put down.
  4. I personally admire SBR and will freely accept that some of the football played under him was exciting to watch (Bellamy and Robert his prized signings - not many will accept them two as good/popular signings though eh?) Feyenoord was likely the best game I've ever been to. But you must also accept that Robson didn't come cheap - he 'lost' the dressing room and there is a very solid argument that he might have gone a lot sooner. Think of the Partizan defeat, losing to WBA (a division below) at home after playing a weakened team. Fourth place was there for the taking yet from Christmas of his final full season he couldn't get the results to get us 4th (Liverpool got 4th and ....) Typically Shepherd and Hall fucked up his sacking - he should have been asked to leave at the end of the previous season without a doubt that was there biggest mistake. I really think that folk put on their rose tinted glasses where SBR was concerned and fail to see the whole picture yet I'll accept that over his whole career he proved he was a good manager and unfortunately for us we couldn't get him post Keegan. That's very big of you.
  5. I bet he could still do a job in football, he's still got his marbles. He seems to be one of those people who needs to work to keep going. Think that's true, unfortunately. I hope he can keep in the game somehow, even if not coaching.
  6. Anyone see that physio on the Weakest Link from Norwich? Foxy.
  7. Maybe it's the football forum equivalent of pulling a girl's pigtails at school.
  8. Oh my god!! String the fucker up immediately, how dare he not manage us before he did manage us!?! He should have smashed his way through the walls of SJP and into the boardroom streaming black and white striped blood from the resulting cuts on his hands and demanded that the board appoint him on pain of death!! Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuppppppppppppppaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaafantastic!! He's a WUM, by the way, for those who hadn't figured that out yet. He's a knobface. Why knock Sir Bobby after everything he did for us?
  9. If we qualify by some fluke, does it mean McLaren will have to stay?
  10. Pretty sure that he wanted to play for Newcastle, tbh, but Newcastle weren't interested.
  11. Fucking awful. Can't imagine how you can bring yourself to watch this again, NE5.

    Allardyce.

I'm intrigued, how about goals in the first half? Guess. Ah.... but say a game has 5 minutes injury time in the first half, and 10 in the second. Technically any goal scored in the first 2 minutes after half time should be included in the first half should they not? No.
  13. And none of them will keep the payments up when they realise how little say you get for your £35, leaving the club in the shit. Heard the bloke running it on TalkSport a few hours back. He reckons members will get to vote on everything: team selection, tactics, training facilities, youth programmes, stadium developments, you name it.
  14. You get nowt for £700,000 anymore.

    Allardyce.

54.77%, to be more accurate, but that's just getting geeky.
  17. FWIW, I don't think there's any point in trying to judge Allardyce until the end of the season. In fact, preferably the end of the 2008-09 season, really. I know we all enjoy a good whinge, but seriously, when it comes to the crunch, I think we've got to stick to the plan for a change. Let's give him a decent crack at the job.

oh i was referring to the person who masterminded the thread ...and keef then Fucking right. Did you know that since we were promoted to the Premier League, 54.8% of our league goals have come in the second half?
  19. Our new academy/training ground opened last month and has something like 10 full size pitches as well as smaller ones, an indoor one and "goalkeeper training areas" whatever the hell they are. I always thought a normal pitch with a net on would suffice for a keeper. Bouncy castles.
  20. Agreed. It's going to be a bloody disaster.
  21. Exactly and all this bollocks is prejudiced by the fact he hasn't set the world alight in his first two games back after injury. If he'd scored the winner against the mackems no one would be saying any of this Tbh, if he'd got banned I bet you wouldn't be saying that. It was fucking idiotic, especially for a player with his reputation at a brand new club. Eh? I'm agreeing with Dave that it was a red card and he would have been banned if he'd been sent off. Even if he'd been banned via video evidence I'd have been of the same view - i.e. it was stupid and reckless but really, it was nowt. There was no real chance of any injury to the other player either so I see other incidents you see in matches - i.e. elbows, shocking tackles etc. as worse. I'm not defending what he did, I'm railing against the holier than thou shite coming from people who've made up their minds about a player and his attitude etc. after a couple of games. Rail on, brother.
